Muffin's Mom -project done?

Did the project get finished in time for your company?  Was all the headache worth it?  Hopefully you're happy with the end product!

Re: Muffin's Mom -project done?

  • Hi everyone!  Yes, it is finished...but it was a race at the end.  They were supposed to be done on Thursday evening.  Not so much.  My company was arriving between 7 and 8 on Friday night.  They finished at TWO on Friday afternoon.  Gary and I then ran around like ants on crack putting furniture back, cleaning, making beds.  We got done 15 minutes before they got there.  THEN, after they left around noon on Saturday, we worked til midnight Saturday and then I worked til around 11 on Sunday night unpacking boxes, putting things back on shelves, hanging pictures, arranging, and recleaning.  It was exhausting.

The upside is that it is BEAUTIFUL!!!  I love it.  The floors are gorgeous.  My house hasn't been this clean since I moved into it in 2002.

The funny part is the reaction of my dogs and the wood floors.  The first day they refused to touch it, so I let them in and out the sliding door in my bedroom.  After that, I spent the next day MAKING them walk around the house on a leash on the floors.  Misty got the hang of it, but Raven is "special".  She would sit in my bedroom at the edge of the carpet and cry...stick one toe out and touch it and then jump back like she was on fire.  Finally, I took her on the leash to the middle of the great room and unhooked her and walked away.  I come back an hour and a half later and she had made the four steps to a small doormat that the cats had knocked into the middle of the room, and was sitting there, upright.  She looked like a small polar bear on a melting iceberg in the middle of the Atlantic ocean.  I'm happy to say, she is getting better every day.

Thecats look like bad drivers at Taladega.  They chase each other, but lose it in the third turn and wang into the wall at like 10mph.  It's more fun than TV.

So, I'm at a friends house in the DC area relaxing for two days.  She has nearly 10,000 square feet of GORGEOUS house and a guest room that rivals the Ritz.  LOVE her  :)

    Thanks for asking!!!

My baby girl is a married woman...and now my baby girl HAS a baby girl. Time unfolds in such an amazing way. I've been blessed!

    HAHAHA!!!!

So glad it's all done and thanks for the morning laugh!

  • LOL - your poor puppy.  (although that is also very funny.)  Hopefully she gets accustomed to it soon or else you'll be covering up your pretty new floor with islands of rugs for her!

Glad all is well that ends well and that you're happy with the final results.
