Stole this from another board.

The OP was talking about couples who write on each other's FB walls during the work day every day. Which lead to this question which I thought was interesting:

What types of things do you and your SO do/say regularly to make each other feel special?

Re: Stole this from another board.

  • I call Lance at work everyday when he's there. He has to drive a lot, so I phone and keep him company :)

  • David and I text back and forth throughout the day... I love yous, I miss you, thinking about you, etc in addition to conversations.

I bring David dinner when he's staying at the station. We get to see each other briefly, and he gets a home cooked meal. He's the envy of all the other guys. ha.

Sometimes I bring him coffee, too.

David texts me pictures of the puppies and makes captions like "We miss you, mom!" and stupid stuff like that.

  • When Tony was home and working a regular office job we were able to call back and forth throughout the day with "thinking about yous", "I love yous", etc. I was also able to pop by the office and we'd have lunch together about once a week. Usually he packed his own lunch every day, but occasionally I'd pack it for him and include a little love note in the bag with his food.

Now it's a little harder because he's so inaccessible most of the time and I can't reach him when I want to. It seems easiest for us to email each other just as I'm about to go to bed and he's getting to work (gotta love the 8 hour time difference!), just the usual I miss you, thinking of you, wish you were here, have a good day/good night, type thing.

  • H and I talk during the day.  He spends about 40 minutes on the road total during the day, so he will generally call me during one of those trips.  And I'll call him at lunch when he's at home.  Texting is handy, too.

But I guess that will have to go away when I'm chasing after 4 year olds all day.

  • Matt and I talk through IM throughout the day as we both sit in front of computers. We usually have a phone conversation at some point too. He also picks me up at my office on his way home. It is a nice 15 minute drive talking about our day and looking forward to going home to see Maggie.

  • I text DH at work sometimes, but it's hard for him to answer me b/c he's a teacher. Mostly, he'll call me at work on his breaks/preps, and we'll talk for a few minutes, and then a lot of time we'll talk as we drive to and from work and home.

  • We text or call each other during the day just to kind of check in. Sometimes when I go grocery shopping I'll grab a canteloupe or a pint of strawberries (two of his favorite snack foods) to suprise him with.

Steve also takes Finn out after it gets dark because he knows it freaks me out.

  • I make and pack him lunch every day during the week. His coworkers think it?s sweet because none of their significant others do that.

We?ll e-mail back and forth during the day. We don?t call often b/c I share an office with my boss and he has a small office.

Now that I'm pregnant when we leave for work in the morning I touch my belly and say "We'll miss you!" And when he asks how I am he'll say "How are my people?"

  • We work at the same school so try to make a point to pop in and see one another sometime during the day.  We also send lots of text messages to each other when we are apart.  Just usually cutesy things like I miss you or I love you.

  • Edgar calls me every morning to wake me up.  Yes I have an alarm, but its good that he calls me because sometimes I fall back asleep. We text alot throughout the day and we call each other alot.  Some days are more than others.  I can tell when he's busy or when I'm busy because the communication stops.  I like being able to reach him when I want or need too.  I get nervous when he doesn't answer his phone and then all kinds of crazy things go through my head.

  • I'll answer my own question!

Jon calls me "Angelface", I call him "Handsome". Not all the time, but quite frequently.

We text off and on during the day and call each other at lunch. J has an hour commute back and forth from work so we talk the whole time he's driving home usually.

He sets his alarm for 6:20 even though he doesn't get up until 6:40 so we can get some extra cuddle time in.

We buy each other little things-movies, books, etc just because.

  • Rusty and I don't talk at all during the day.  He works construction so he doesn't have email and he has a work phone that his company pays for so I don't think it is right for me to text him.  Every once in a while if he is working in the same city as me, he will stop by if he isn't busy to take me to lunch, but I think that has happened maybe 3 times in 3 years.

When I get home from work him and Parker hide and I have to search the house for them.  It is somewhere different everyday.  I really love that because Parker gets so excited to see me (because he is hungry!) he just lights up when I finally find them.  I hate not being able to pick him up from daycare because I don't get the smiles and giggles so Rusty plays this game with me so I do get them!

  • We email during the day. We don't really talk b/c he ALWAYS calls my cell phone (and not my work phone)for some reason and I hate when it starts ringing at work (this is probably imprinted into my mind b/c at my last job my d-bag boss literally yellled at me and told me it was unprofessional for my cell phone to ring)....

If I am working from home he comes home for lunch a lot, which I really like. It's a nice way to break up the day.

Outside of work my husband is AWESOME at telling me every day, at least once, how much he loves me, how beautiful I am, how happy he is to be married to me... He's really good in that area :)

  • We will talk about 5-10 times during the day-depending on how busy he is. Usually it's just to let me know something, sometimes it's just to see what I'm doing, what we are going to do after work, etc.

More often than not, the conversations end with "I was going to tell you something, but I forgot"

We also email quite a bit.
