I saw in your thankful post about the room theme/bedding stress. I'm in the same boat. Are you guys finding out what you are having or doing gender neutral?
My issue is that I hate all the super ballerini pink girly girly bedding sets. Plus, you aren't supposed to use bumpers or quilts that come with the sets anyways so it seems like a waste of money. I'm seriously contemplating attempting to sew my own bedding (fitted sheet and crib skirt), which could be disasterous and more stress than it's worth.
I feel like I can't start on any of the other nursery stuff though until I decided on bedding because I'd revolve the theme around the bedding.
Let me know if your sister finds any good stuff!!!
Re: *Mary*
Oh I?m so glad I?m not alone in this!! Why are there so many choices?! We?re finding out the gender on June 27th and I told my sister get ready for the e-mails back and forth on the 28th to help me pick out bedding/theme.
I?m not big on an over the top/everything themed look to the nursery. We were even thinking of just getting a few flannel and a few cotton fitted sheets, crib skirt and bumper (to use later) in coordinating colors and painting the room one of those colors. My MIL is a seamstress so I might even find some fabric I like for curtains and a bed skirt and then get sheet colors to match that?
I found this nursery online that I?m loving so far- it?s not so ?baby? and could work for either gender. That's what I think we'll do. So far I haven't liked any of the bed sets that come together. Plus there is just too much stuff- I don't need a matching diaper sack, toy bag, accent pillows... I found some great seperate piece options on amazon and overstock. I'm thinking of registering on amazon too.
I really like this! Do you know where it sells?
No idea... the other night I was googling "gender neutral nursery" and this came up and I feel in love... It was posted on a blog that just listed pictures but no info about the stuff in the picture.
also butting in... Wyatt doesn't have a bedding set. All he has is sheets and knitted blankets which we got after he was born (he got quilts too but we don't use them in the crib). Technically that is all they're supposed to have. I ended up buying bumpers in the same color as the room just last week because he whacks his head on the crib several times a night (he's an active sleeper).
So you could always just get sheets and a crib skirt (if you want one) that go along with the room design that you want
Okay good I'm glad to hear this is't all to uncommon! I think that?s what we?ll do. I?d like to get a few flannel sheets and sleeper sacks right away and then maybe a bumper later on.
yeah, when I was looking for gender neutral bedding I couldn't find anything that wasn't ridiculously tacky that didn't cost a fortune. That one you posted is really cute though!
All I got were the cheap, $5.00 sheets from Walmart... they have cows and polka dots on them lol.
I got the bumpers from babies r us, but they're just plain green. I agree with you on the girlie stuff, none of it is all that great

You ladies should check out www.babysupermall.com for bedding. You can buy everything separately there.
I personally think that a bedding set is a waste of money. Since my FIL made the crib we couldn't use the skirt and we don't use the quilt or most of the bumpers. The only things we use currently are the sheet and 1 bumper because I would wake up to him hitting his head. We used the breathable bumpers from babies r us at the beginning, but that was mainly so our dog couldn't stick his nose through the slats and lick him (Cierra won't be able to do that though!).
Here are a couple blogs/websites that I have bookmarked that have TONS of nursery ideas for boys, girls, or gender neutral:

I?m finding all the bedding sets (boy or girl) tacky and expensive? and again so glad to hear I?m not the only one!
Does Amazon ship to Canada? I?ve found good separates there.
Oh this is a great website... hello lunch hour fun!!!
No- she would need a step ladder to be able to get to baby. That is adorable your dog would stick his nose through the slats and lick Parker.
I found this website and they have a lot of cute crib bedding.

LOVE this!
They do but it's usually pretty pricey and some items wont ship due to different safety standards etc. (i.e., most baby items which is so annoying!)
Amazon.ca totally sucks compared to amazon.com, we really only get the books and stuff none of the awesome mechandise (including Amazon mom). We get totally ripped off.
Bummer! Well keep me posted on what bedding and theme you pick.
I found this which I like. These guys have lots of options:
Is that the website you can design your own?
Since I'm crazy and have already thought about this stuff, I've found this website before and love it!! I think if we had a girl I'd go with some pretty patterned thing like what they have on this website.
It seemed a little pricey to me though.
My cousin got her baby bedding set from JCPenney's and its cute and not at all babyish. She got the Park Avenue set for her baby boy. I really like the Piccadilly one for a girl. Do they have JCP in Canada?
Nope.
Hey, if you find something, and you can have it at my house before the 28th I can take it up to Canada for you... just let me know if you want to do that!
