Have you ever . . .

Had a case of the a$$ for seemingly everything for no specific reason? Like all the irritating things just are too much to handle?

I'm experiencing this lately, now I am PMSing a little but it is WAY worse than usual. Like I want to go home and have a good cry because I'm so PO'ed. Anyone else experience this? What did you do to help yourself feel better? I need some ideas please!!!

  • This is going to sound horrible, but sometimes, I get like that with Jeff. He can just drive me crazy sometimes! It is always things that are completely harmless, but when I am carrying up yet another load of laundry to fold while he is sitting there playing on that stupid xbox, I could scream...Yet, I wouldn't let him do the laundry because I know he wouldn't do it how I wanted, so I would just have to fold and put everything away again...same with anything in the kitchen...haha!

  • Yes...haha. Sometimes I vent to my mom or my BFF....that helps sometimes my favorite food or TV show also helps.
  • Actually it really doesn't have to do with Alex, though I was a little peeved he's going out to lunch while I'm coming home, with his mom and the kids. And that's probably because I'm so aggravated at work that I need a hug from him to calm me down!

I've been hitting the studying for that certification test pretty hard, and vacation is only 3 weeks away (July 8th we leave) so I wonder if I'm just stressed from lack of vacation and this test (which I haven't scheduled even).

  • I get like that too, Lisa - I think it's fairly universal :-) Sometimes, and when I think about it, it is mostly around time for AF, I get so, so...angry. I just get mad. I want to hit something sometimes! I shared that with H once while we were driving, and he accused me of having road rage...and I was the passenger - hahaha!!

He laughed and told me I have "evil moments" and that he'd be sure to stay out of my way until they passed. But when my moments do come - thankfully, they're rare - it helps me to have some total alone time. I find a book or one of my favorite comedy/sad movies, and laugh or cry as the need may be. I tend to feel better once I've gotten those emotions out.

    Fav "make me laugh" movies:

Meet the Parents, White Chicks, Hangover, Knocked Up...to name a few

    Fav tearjerkers:

Steel Magnolias, The Other Sister, The Family Stone (will make you laugh and cry), Titanic, The Color Purple and The Notebook...

The good news is...it will pass! ((Hugs))

  • You are definitely not alone! While it is not ideal, I usually just let myself cry it out. When I leave work on a particularly sucky day,  I will just let it out. I am also a big fan of naps. Depending on the day that I am PO'ed I might go home and take an hour nap, then wake up and do dinner and stuff. It helps me calm down and relax.

I am sorry that you are experiencing this though. Venting on the nest is always a good release as well.

I'm with Breanne - LET IT OUT!  It's amazing what a good cry will do.  Oh, and lots of chocolate (or whatever your vice is)

  • @rands- I LOVE white chicks, it is so hilarious!!! I hear the song from the dance off and I laugh every time! That is a great idea, I may do that.

    @breannie- thanks for the ideas

@everyone- thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one who feels like this!

  • Definitely have been there!  I usually like taking a walk or watching a movie when I'm in that kind of mood - it tends to clear the mind and calms my nerves.

This!!!  I feel that a good cry is very cleansing to the mind and the soul.  So, go ahead and let it all out.

  • Once in a great, great while I have those days.  Usually it's when I'm at work and I have to run to the bathroom and ball because I just reached my breaking point.  I feel better after I get the cry out, then I come home and hug my hubby and feel better.  :)

  • yes yes YES!! This happens to me more often now that I'm unhappy at work - I think job dissatisfaction and/or stress has a lot to do with it. I get so mad at myself because sometimes it's hard for me not to snap at someone. Often they deserve it, but not always :)

A good workout at the gym or a run always makes me feel better. 100% of the time - seriously!

I was glad you replied to this since I'm in a similar boat with the job dissatisfaction. It helps to know I'm not completely crazy :-) I have been working out but it wasn't seeming to have an effect on stress levels. I did remember I have an herbal supplement called Stress-J which I should have taken, so its it my work bag. It does work well but of course you have to take it before you reach your breaking point :-)

Thank you all so much for your support, you are the best!!
