How's your mom doing lately?

Re: *ami*

  • Aw you are so sweet for asking! She seems to be doing ok. I talked to my dad to ask him and he said that she needs to have her galbladder out soon because the whites of her eyes seem like they are yellow. I don't really know how long she has had a problem, but I'm guessing it's been awhile.

One thing I didn't put on here was that she found out some more news from the dr. by chance they found a start of an aneursym on her aorta. Also she has spots on her spleen. She seems to be trying to stay optomistic about finding out this news, but I know she is concerned.

She saw a cardiologist on Monday and he told her that they will be keeping an eye on her. Plus she'll have to go on blood pressure medication. He did say that she would be fine for surgery. Although she has to wait 2 weeks just to see a surgeon. All in all we are just waiting.

    Thanks for asking!

  • I forgot to ask you about her last night (I'm blaming PG brain)----glad to hear they're being proactive with her care.  It stinks they found some unexpected things, but good they caught it now instead of later.  Hopefully once she meets with a surgeon they'll proceed quickly with things and there won't be too much more waiting!
  • Oh man! Well, here's a little anecdotal story, in case it helps: my grandpa-in-law just had surgery for an aortic aneurism and it went just fine, and he's 75 years old. It was one of those things where they had to wait for it to get big enough for them to operate, and he had it for years and years before it finally got big enough. Then, when it was, they just kept him overnight and released him the next day. I think he had it done at Mercy.

Hugs, lady. Family health worries are the some of the hardest worries out there, I think. Continued healthy vibes your way! :)

    Thanks ladies!

That's what the doctor told her. It's not dialated enough right now to do surgery. So they'll just watch to make sure it never becomes a problem.

  • So meant to ask you about this too--I'm going to blame mine on beer brain.  :)  I am glad she's doing alright and I hope that she continues to feel better each day!
