My client cancelled this morning. I can watch. The defense starts today.
My first comment.... Baez isn't getting on his witnesses for speaking to the jurors. Anyone know when this convict is going to testify?

Ditto. I'm not really interested in the science stuff. I like the gossipy boyfriends getting up there. It was like a soap opera. I'm not disappointed I haven't been able to watch the past week and a half.

I just tuned in this AM, we had a late start this morning. I am on the edge of my seat waiting to hear about the sexual abuse stuff. And I keep wondering if she is going to testify. I mean, how could she? But then how can she not if they don't prove what they need to prove.

That would be nice, but I'm sure someone would object. I doubt the lady knew the reasoning.
Today is going so slooowww. The defense is really lacking momentum.
Just when I think I get where the defense is going it turns into a dead end. Like, "no it was not George Anthony's DNA." At one point I was hoping it was the meter readers DNA, just to liven things up. LOL. Just kidding, but this crap is boring and going nowhere (or at least from what I can see right now).

I think they're just trying to make the point that there was no significant DNA evidence found at all, so nothing "scientific" to tie Casey to the crime scene. I've only been sort of half paying attention though, so I may have missed some important stuff.
I do like the scientific stuff, although it is pretty tedious. It was tedious when the prosecution presented it, too, but we'll see if the jury can follow any of it. I thought the witness was likable, at least.
As far as the paternity stuff, I thought for a second they were going to say Lee was abusing Casey too and was actually Caylee's father. That would've been quite a "dun, dun, DUN" kind of moment, eh? No soap opera stuff here though, I guess. I have no idea why Baez would even ask that question though, if there was nowhere to go with it. He may have just been trying to plant in the jury's minds that b/c Casey was abused there was reason to check if any of her family members were Caylee's father? That's a bit of a stretch, though.

I think Baez said in his opening that Casey was abused by lee and it got so bad that he had to be tested for paternity... I think Ashton was the one to ask about the results
Okay, yeah...I felt like they had accused Lee of abuse as well but didn't remember hearing it directly and the focus has been so much on George, that I thought maybe I made that up.
So yeah, I guess Baez was just trying to insinuate that they had to test for paternity because of the abuse, regardless of the results?
What a mess it all is.

Yes. it's a mess.
This witness is saying she didn't see any trace of a heart sticker...
So the defense is saying that Caylee drowned but what are they saying happened to the body afterwards? Did it magically dump itself in the wooded area a mile from their home? Who dumped the body? Or are they not going to explain that? I remember during the investigation the police had thought she had buried the body then moved it when the police started poking around.

the meter reader found it.
Wait, I thought the defense claimed that the meter reader stored the body and then placed it in the woods. He was waiting for the reward to grow before he called authorities. Hmm, let me check that out......

Jose Baez then proceeded to state that Roy Kronk, the meter reader who found Caylee Anthony?s body on December 11, 2008, managed to gain possession of the body of Caylee Anthony before hiding it for several months. Jose Baez said that Roy Kronk placed Caylee?s body on Suburban Drive so that he could collect reward money.
I can't wait to see how the defense explains this!

I heard something about him telling his son (kronk) that he was going to be rich or something like that... but I don't think Kronk killed her.
I remember in the opening Baez said something about how Roy Kronk helped move the body because he was a man without morals, no?
