Re: FFFC
I'm sick of DH telling me that radiation from my laptop is going to hurt the baby.
Really? But now I'm paranoid about resting it on my tummy anyway.
My SIL's baby shower is tomorrow and I'm currently working on filling my third gift basket. I have absolutely no willpower when it comes to my nieces/nephews.
And I might make myself a new skirt today if P takes a long nap instead of clean, which is probably what I should be doing.

I get (irrationally?) annoyed when people tell me my bump is "nothing!". Obviously it's nothing compared to what it's going to be, but given how I was, this is something. And it comes mostly from women I know who have been pregnant recently - I feel like they should remember what it's like to WANT to have a bump and telling me it's nothing just irritates me.
I wish everyone would say things like my friend from work (who saw me for the first time in a month the other day). He walked in and went "ohhh, look at your belly! baby is growing!" (FTR, we're close, so this wasn't like some awkward convo, haha).
I'm done whining now!
It is definitely something! It is amazing to compare your 4w and 14w bump pics in the same shirt. So cool and it is a bump.
I agree! You can totally tell that a baby is growing in there. Don't let them get you down about it!

For the first 2 years we lived in our house, if Tim went away overnight, I left the upstairs bathroom light on (it's right outside our room).
So glad I'm not the only one who gets weird about this. I'll probably leave the hall light on. I actually do this when he officiates far away during the week and I am in bed before he gets home. I never actually really fall asleep until he gets home. Luckily it's tonight, so I will have the rest of the weekend to recover from not getting much sleep.

Did you at least go to a decent bakery?

When H is out of town I usually leave the hall light on and lock the bedroom door. I also have to touch each door to make sure it is locked. I have been thisclose to moving one of our night stands infront of our bedroom door.
I pulled the pregnancy card for deli meats... I really hate deli meat. I take the "what not to eat" list with a grain of salt though but since I hate it and I hate when it's the only option for lunches at points, I've been using it to my advantage.
DH caught on yesterday when we went out to eat and I got a turkey reuben (granted it was toasted).... I kind of confessed to him that if I really wanted to, I could eat it... but I'm not because I hate it.
I got a frozen hot chocolate and a sausage biscuit with cheese this morning from Dunkin Donuts. It probably totally washes out all the hard work I've done at the gym this week, but I'm PMSing and we had a crap morning so far and I don't care at the moment.
The frozen hot chocolate is HEAVEN.
When DH is gone I leave the light at 1st floor landing on (spills light down the stairs out the window next to the door and up the 2nd flight out the dormer window), plus the front door lights, and I turn on the backyard spot lights (motion sensors). I can't lock the bedroom door so the cats can come and go, but I check the exterior doors multiple times a night to make sure they are locked.
P.S. Bring your car keys and leave them on your nightstand. If someone tries to break in hit the panic button and it should scare them off. I also bring my cell phone (both items I usually leave in my purse on the 1st floor when DH is home), even though there's a house phone on DH's nightstand.
We actually keep my extra set on the nightstand for this reason.
I always check the 3 outside doors (front door, deck door, door to garage) every night before I go to bed. If I don't I can't fall asleep.

CRAFTY ME
my read shelf:
I check all exterior doors before going to bed too - even if I was the last one in the house and I KNOW I locked the door. (I do this even if Tim is home). When he's gone, I also leave the outside lights on.
((hugs)) We love you Amy. Please come back when you're ready.

I don't really do anything special when DH is gone...sometimes I lock the bedroom door, sometimes I don't. I guess since Oscar sleeps in there with me I feel safer? You know, since he's so big, ferocious, and unfriendly
My FFC.....I'm so super excited to be off BCP it's not even funny. I won't start a new pack on Sunday, so this should be a fun ride! I hope I'm not a crazy whackadoo all month!
