So...

Apparently I will be training my replacement on Monday.  My co-worker just told me that he over heard that I will begin training "a guy" on my job on Monday.  Hahaha!  That is just fabulous.

The past couple of days here at work have been STRESSFUL.  I just talked to our bookkeeper and she feels the same as I do, stressed out, emotionally drained and fed up.  After getting yelled and cursed at yesterday I was prepared to give my resignation today.  But then my co-worker said that he was told that they were interviewing for 2 of the 3 positions here.  I figured that if they were interviewing for the other 2 positions that it is very likely they were interviewing for mine.  After venting to two friends they suggested that I wait so I can get laid off and collect unemployment.  I will stay for another week and see what happens.  If I get let go it would not be the worst thing to happen.  I am actually hoping and praying that they will let me go.

So if you read this, thanks for listening to me vent.

Re: So...

  • I have been through this before I sympathize for you! Hugs!
  • Sorry, Deb.  That stinks. :-(  But maybe it's the motivation you need to get your resume fixed up and find something else where you'll be happier.  I agree, I would wait it out and collect UE while looking for another job, but I would also start fixing up your resume and getting it out there ASAP.  Good luck!

  • So sorry Deb. I would hang out for the next week to collect UE also.

Hope this opens the door you need.

I'm so sorry.  It sounds like they are not handling anything well there.  I agree with Sunshine, I'd get my resume in order and, even if this doesn't happen (layoff), start looking for something better!

  • I'd hang in there and document every single thing that happens from here on out.

If they lay you off and do not fire you but replace you, you can lodge a complaint with the labor board.

I do agree with everyone else though. Get your resume together and get it out on the street. Even if they don't replace you, this is not the type of environment you want to operate in daily.

  • I agree with everything everyone said.  And I think you're right.  This could be a great thing right?  You don't want to be there anyway.
