Bleh, feeling blue :(

Some of you know I threw my back out last night. Too much sitting doing applications all day. I've applied to 10 schools so far and only heard from one, which was ages ago now. We got approved for the apt in L.A. (yay!) so we're moving in a very short time but I am freaking out about a job. It's like crickets out there. I had to go on my old school district's website to get a phone number and the first photo that pops up in their slideshow wallpaper was of two of my former students. And a friend/former colleague just posted about my former school's graduation which makes me want to cry. Thanks for listening to me whine.

  • Well poo. Not a fun day. You're getting unemployment, right? I don't know what to say, other than I'm sure you guys will make it, one way or the other. You've made it through many more tougher times than this.
My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.

Yeah, I do have it (or we couldn't have gotten the apt). But I can't be on forever. We have in some ways, yes.
  • I'm so sorry H! Tons of prayers for you! I hope your back feels better soon, and that you hear from the most perfect job of all time very soon! (((hugs)))

  • Sorry H! It's awesome you got an apartment and your hubs career is going to zoom when you're in LA. I hope you find something asap, and feel better quick!

  • Sorry to hear about your back going out, yikes! And with the job hunt too. My sister accepted an out of state teaching job because she could not find one in her desired part of the Bay Area or near San Luis Obispo and she's been out of college for two years. Things will pick up, hopefully there are lots of teachers in LA retiring somewhere.

  • Sorry H!  I know things look bleak now, but I really hope they start to look up for you!  You deserve great things!!

  • I'm sorry the job hunt is so rough; I've been there and feel your pain.  I hope something works out for you really, really soon.

And I literally feel your pain re: your back, too.  I hurt my back last year and am still trying to get it back to normal.  Look up some back stretching/strengthening exercises online and take plenty of ibuprofen.

    Hang in there!

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • Thanks everyone! It's bad timing with my back because I need to start packing soon. I'm not going to until it's feeling better and I'm going to make sure not to pack the boxes too heavy. I've been trying to stretch it as much as I can. It's really closer to being my hip, which I have always had trouble with.
