s/o confessions: wish lists

My co-worker in IN told me that she and her husband each had a folder at home. When they found something they liked or wanted that would be a nice gift, they'd rip it out/print it off and put it in their folder. Then when it came to bday, holiday, anniv., etc., they always had a bunch of options, all kinds of things.

Do you and YH do anything like this? Do you think it's a good or bad idea?

Re: s/o confessions: wish lists

  • We have an app on our iPhones called ListMe - we mostly use it for to do lists, grocery lists, etc.  It allows you to share lists with other people though, which is super handy.

Anyway, we both have wish lists on there.  Makes shopping for holidays and birthdays super easy and helps me remember what I want.. I can't remember anything so it is nice to be able to add something to the list when I see it :)

  • We each have a "wish list" saved on the computer, and we add to it whenever we think of something we want.  It really helps at Xmas and birthdays!
  • I have a half-assed Amazon wishlist. It is mostly for the ILs but I'm sure DH uses it too. I usually don't have problems thinking of gifts for him.

  • we both have amazon lists, but DH rarely updates his, unless it's right before his bday or xmas, at which point he can't think of anything and just adds random crud.

  • We don't have lists, but we need them. We both suck at coming up with suggestions.
  • My H is better at offering wish lists than I am. Actually he gets a little out of control with offering ideas. I inevitably can't think of anything when asked :)
  • We both have Amazon wish lists. You can add items both from Amazon and other sites so anything we come across that we would want for either a gift or to buy ourselves we add to our individual list. It works really well for us.

  • We don't keep wishlists, though I think it's a great idea and I might have to begin utilizing them.
