PayPal Advice needed
I have been trying to sell this stroller that I won that I can't use. I got no bites here or on The Bump. I finally Craigslisted the sucker.
A woman that lives in PEI Canada wants it. She is vacationing in Maine later this month and would like me to ship it to her at her friend's Maine house. DH and I are immediately leery of it and I told her no. She tried to get a friend in NY to help her and couldn't find someone close enough to Queens.
She said that she would Paypal me the money and the shipping costs. I know that checks and money orders and transfers are instant indicators of scams. How safe is PayPal if someone sends me money that way? I have no real knowledge of any of this and I don't want to get taken.
Any advice?
BTW, this woman is the only bite that I have gotten. So I guess if I tell her to buzz off I will drop my price on CL.

Thanks. I told her that if she sent the money paypal and she gave me a confirmed shipping address and I could send it signature delivery required we would be in business. Now we will see how that goes.

I thought the same thing too, but as long as you get the money in your account first, then I wouldn't worry about it too much.
I don't know how she ended up looking in our neck of the woods. Her last email said that the address in Maine is an Ace Hardware Store that her friend owns, I believe. But then it won't be a Confirmed PayPal Address so I will lose my PayPal Seller Protections. I am thinking of telling her to take a flying leap.
No. This sounds too complicated. Tell her thanks, but no thanks.
If you really want to get rid of the stroller, donate to a women's shelter or something and get the tax writeoff.
