Insurance

Anyone have a good insurance agent in Dallas?  I've been with State Farm for a long time with no problems, but this month has been a different story.  It has taken over a month for my agent to get together a quote for me and I still have yet to receive it despite several attempts to call and e-mail.  Other than that, I have liked State Farm and have paid a good rate for auto and renters insurance.

Any recommendations would be awesome.  Thanks!

Re: Insurance

  • I was actually just thinking about posting something about this.  I went to thanksal.com (Remember the radio commercials, call 1-800-Thanks-Al - it's that company).  They called me back, and we spent about 15 minutes on the phone, and I'm embarrassed to say how much I'm saving, because it'd mean admitting how much I was paying before.  I asked for homeowners, and just for grins, auto for DH (my car is still on my parents plan, shame, I know).  Just for his truck, we'll save over $50 a month.  I'm considering a new car soon, and I shot her an email to ask what it would be if we had both his truck and the car I'm considering - $4 more than we're currently paying for just his truck with State Farm.  For the same coverage.  I'm amazed.

The agent I've been working with is Heather Wasser... if you want her info, let me know.

  • We use USAA, so I am really no help.

    Sorry. Sad

     She's my friend!! :)

  • We have Progressive.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • We just switched from State Farm for the same exact reason.

We went to Geico.  Paying $20/month less... and we have double the coverage.

If the State Farm insurance guy would have tried to help us, we probably wouldn't have switched either.  Oh well I guess!

  • Thanks Angie, I will have to contact her and see what she has to offer.  That's crazy that she's Lacy's friend...small world! Randy is with Progressive right now and pays over $400 every six months for minimum liability, minimum uninsured motorist, etc.  No comprehensive, no theft coverage...just bare minimum.  State Farm's quote for him came to $280 every six months with more coverage.  I think right now I pay $60/mo for comprehensive coverage and a $1000 deductible.  I'm not sure if that's good or bad. My insurance knowledge is pretty limited. :-/

Brianna, have you been satisfied with Geico?

Small world!  She's been super helpful so far :)

  • Yeah, I really like it so far.
  • There is no company that offers the best deal for every person. You have to get quotes from different companies online and see which companies can provide you with the best price: www.quotes-center.com

I think this is how Al Boenker works - they take your info and see which companies match up best to you.  Except it's a person, instead of a website, which is nice sometimes :)
