Adolescent Residential treatment center/facility?

Are there any around the Canton/Plymouth areas? I tried to google but didn't get many that would be relevant.
I ask because I used to work at one back home and our kids would often run away from the facility in their slippers (house shoes as the kids called them). I saw a boy walking down the street today wearing slippers and regularly looking behind him like he was looking to see if people were following him. Made me think of my kids back home....

Are you asking about drug rehabilitation facilities? If so, then yes, there are.

Well, I'm used to a residential setting where adolescent kids are placed through foster care/family court for behavioral stuff- like if they committed a crime that if they were of age, they'd be in jail.
With a drug rehab, the kids are able to walk out when they want (discharge themselves), right? This kid definately looked like he was guilty of something.

Yes and no. There are facilities in the Plymouth/Canton/Westland areas that are "monitored". Said kids have to be in their rooms by a certain time, lights out by a certain time, etc but otherwise they are pretty free to roam about ie walk to the store. It's not really discharging themselves, it's a joke really. I say this because my SIL has been in and out of these "treatment centers" for years.

I am really bothered by this post...why can't the kid walk down the street without being judged? It's not very kind to just assume every kid in 'slippers' in guilty of something. I understand you have past experiences that are effecting your view, but this post makes you sound really judgmental.

I'm sorry I offended you, or anyone else. I wasn't trying to be judgemental at all. He looked like a nice enough kid and wasn't bothering anyone. There wasn't judgement made on him, it was more that it made me think of where I used to work. I was just curious to see if there was a place like I used to work near by. I'd like to go back to work at some point and somewhat enjoyed the setting I was in before. And the post that makes me sound judgemental was just to explain the setting I was used to and not the drug and alcohol treatment- again,not making judgement on him, just an experience the situation reminded me of.
