Weekend highlights?

One of my best friends got married up in Massachusetts this weekend. The wedding was at her family's house by the water, and the view was gorgeous. I did her makeup, which was nerve wracking, but fun!

How was everyone's weekend?

Re: Weekend highlights?

  • My husband and I ran in the Media 5 Miler on Friday night. I have been recovering from a chest cold and the hills on the course were tough!

Saturday was a rest day and we did the usual--Farmer's Market, house stuff. I took a two hour nap in the afternoon!!!  We watched Fair Game on Saturday night--really good film. It was based on the Valerie Plame/CIA-leak.

Sunday morning we got up super early and drove out to Atglen, PA for another race. We had a 10K trail race at a new park. Both my husband and I did well--we both medaled in our age groups.  Came home from the race, went to brunch with both of our dads and then hit up a family graduation party.   T

The weekend was too fast and I'm already looking forward to next weekend.

  • My weekend was very productive.   Nesting has already hit me hard (or just sent my hatred of clutter into overdrive) because I've been boxing stuff up for the last couple of weeks to donate.  On Saturday morning we filled my Highlander to the brim and donated a ton of stuff to a thrift store that benefits charities.  Then I found out my MIL's church is having a rummage sale, so I spent yesterday in the attic cleaning out more stuff and have almost another full load of things to donate.

I did some relaxing too - Saturday we had a 50th birthday party - it was a great day to spend outside.

  • Our new mattress was delivered on Saturday and while I didn't get to sleep on it Saturday night as DH was snoring like a tractor trailer, I slept on it last night and it was like sleeping on a cloud.

We also got some of the big stuff added to our registry after a trip to Buy Buy Baby on Saturday.  We had a near meltdown over monitors but decided to just forget it and move on.  Other than that, it was an absolutely pleasant experience.

  • Put together the bassinet, pack n play, made a crib skirt, and did some cleaning.  We went to Devon Seafood for our "last childless dinner night out" and it was awesome. Now we wait.

Yet another way in which you are ahead of me. Can you come to our house next? Otherwise I don't think this kid is going to have a room of it's own.

People keep telling me that I need to keep stuff around so I can nest towards the end.  So maybe I'll just come over and do your house (and your ITunes!).  PS - I'm converting to Mac.

Well, toward the end you'll have new stuff to put away. YAY for going Mac. I guess Kernel and I rubbed off on you. And btw, our itunes library is hopeless.

  • I was in CT from Wednesday until last night. Wednesday was my niece's first birthday and I was the MOH in my best friend's wedding on Saturday. It was a wonderful time but I was so happy to be home again last night, cuddling on the couch with my very needy kitties...until I remembered I had to work the next day. Ugh, playing catchup at work and at home is never fun after being away.

  • @jessh - saw your pics on FB, lovely!  And the bride was so ethereal-looking!

Ugh, I had quite a weekend although I had all intentions of doing lots of stuff. I ended up working a 14 hour day and then going out all night. DH and I hit the hay at 5am as the sun was coming up.  It was fun and much needed.  Although I didn't really *need* to lose the day on Saturday, I got my sh!t together on Sunday and we also cleaned house and bagged up about 6 bags of clothing to go to the thrift store.  Our bedroom looks really clean, which was my goal.

  • Friday we just had pizza and hung out on our back patio.  It was great.

Saturday up early to run a 5K race.  Ran my slowest time ever and I was so angry.  I am justifying it with the heat, humidity, and this terrible cough that I have had for a couple days.  So there.

After the race, we quickly stopped at the farmer's market, DH got a haircut, and we made our way down the shore for an overnight.  Sunday woke up early to help my SIL cook breakfast for Father's Day, MIL's birthday, and "Uncle's Day" so DH wasn't left out :)  Then we drove home and headed to my uncle's house for a Father's Day dinner.

    It was busy but fun.

Don't be so hard on yourself!!!  I have been fighting the same cough/chest cold thing for the last week and ran a race on Friday (not my best time)...my goal on Friday was just to finish. Good for you for getting out there on Saturday morning and pushing yourself!!!

  • We went to NYC overnight on Saturday.  Went to a comedy club Saturday night - the guy selling us tickets told us Judah Freelander from 30 Rock was performing, yeah.. not so much.  Despite the trickery, the comedy club was still a good time.  And I had the manager give us 2 tickets for a future show when we are back in town, due to the misleading ticket salesman.

Sunday afternoon we went to the TKTS booth and got seats for Memphis.  It won the Tony last year.  It was good, not amazing, but good.  I had REALLY wanted to see the plays The Normal Heart or the Motherf*cker with the hat, but both sold out right before I got there.  So they're on my list for next time.

My husband is still waiting for me to nest.
  • Mine too.  I still have boxes to unpack from our move back in January that are piled up in our spare bedroom.  If I become preggers, our kid definetly will have no room of its own.  Makes me wonder- if it's still in boxes and we're not using it, do we actually need it?  I also need to go Mac.

  • Jen - its about time! Mac is the only way to go, imo.

Weekend was good. Threw a bridal shower for my friend and her bach. party. It was kinda stressful as I felt like the pressure was on me for it to be fun but it turned out well. Lot of people got drunk and I think everyone had fun.

That pretty much took up my entire weekend.
