Hi ladies! Is there alot of baby talk on this board? I joined The Bump and was very dissapointed by their negativity. I just don't understand it.
Re: Baby Talk?
The bump in general, or the bump WCF board?
And yes, there is a fair amount of baby talk here.
The TTC board. I really don't want to be mean, but they really need to change their negative attitudes if they want to be blessed with a baby. I'm a big believer in the energy that you put into the universe will come back to you. I haven't gotten much feedback on the WCF board.
Yeah, the WCF bump board is more slow than this one most days. IDK much about the bump - too many idiots IMO.
Anyways, ask away. A fair amount of us are pregnant, trying or have kids.
I'm new to TTC. DH and I tried once in my fertile period. I know, not much an attempt, but next month we are going to go full force!
I thought that it was HIGHLY unlikely that I would be pregnant after one time, but I have been having alot of pregnancy symptoms. I'm 9 DPO and I've been experience a strong sence of smell, nausea, tender breasts, and fatigue. I know that most, if not all of these can be contributed to menstration, but yesterday I started getting some wierd twinges in my uterus area. The twinge is specifically on my right side and it's very concentrated, about the size of a quarter. It's not so much a pain, but like a poking, annoying sensation. I looked on my ovulation calendar and it said that yesterday was implantation day! It's unlike any other feeling that I've ever had. Normally my menstration cramps take over my entire abdominal area. The sensation radiated a little throughout the day, but is still stayed pretty concentrated. Can you actually feel implantation? Today, my right side is sore and my lower back aches.
Thanks! I tried the TTC board, but they insisted that I lurk for a while, rather than post. I know, odd right?
Honestly, on most boards, you should lurk some. Especially topic-specific boards like that - they get the same questions over and over. Asking you to lurk is just to avoid repeating the same thing to every new TTCer. Also, you have to take into account the tone of the regulars and the context (because some people don't leave, even if that topic is no longer relevant to them). Lurking is wise, no matter which forum you are a member.
It's kind of like trying a new church - you know you're going to mass/sermon, but is it the right environment for YOU? And if you sit in the back row for at least one session, you'll get tons of your own, basic questions answered.
As far as implantation questions, don't ask me. I had an oops BCP baby. Someone else will need to chime in on that.
Pregnancy symptoms cannot be counted on to mean anything until you get that positive test. You'll have to wait out the rest of your 2ww, which I know is nerve-wrecking. GL!
Also, I understand your frustration with rude people on the bump, but please re-consider phrases such as "they really need to change their negative attitudes if they want to be blessed with a baby". Becoming pregnant has nothing to do with that, please take it from someone who has been trying for 2 years.
Hello and welcome! I don't have much to offer either because I had a surprise baby too. I had period like symptoms in the very beginning but AF just wasn't coming, After I was a few days late I decided to test for sh*ts and giggles and was quite surprised!
A couple weeks after my BFP is when I started to get the one sided pain, so I'm not much help for you. I know that everyone is different! When in doubt, POAS!
Welcome! It is entirely possible to be pregnant after just one try. DH and I had unprotected sex once my fertile period and I got pregnant. The symptoms you mentioned before editing sound a lot like what I had around 9 DPO, and I got my BFP on 11 DPO. Of course, they could be nothing other than AF approaching, so you can't really say before you get a positive test.
Also, be careful posting on Getting Pregnant on the Nest too. They are pretty tight knit and appreciate lurking for a bit too. Plus a lot of ladies there struggle to get pregnant and don't seem to take well to "surprise, we're really fertile and it only took one try" type posts.
This pretty much word for word. Negative, undeserving people get pregnant all the time. While people (like Lauren, and many others) have to struggle with having a little bundle of happiness in their bellies. Also, test, test, test. It can be possible to know even before you test (I had every damn symptom in the book, so the test was just a formality) but don't stress over it until you see a positive or negative sign.
Good luck!

PAIF/SAIF/PGAL welcome
I definitely understand someone's frustration with trying to get pregnant for years. I've experienced this with numerous friends and family members. I have seen the heartache and the negativity that resulted. I guess my statement came from my own frustation with looking for a "home" and a place that I can learn from others and reach out to experience a part of my life that I know NOTHING about. I expected to be welcomed and assisted, but I was not. I just want to be positive about my own journey.
Thanks for the welcome and insight. I really appreciate it.
I'm going to say that the ladies here, though we all have our differences (and for me, especially, moments of insanity) are all very positive, welcoming and down right nice. This board compared to others is like day and night.
Ditto what the others said.
As for your question - try not to read too far into things until you test. I tested at 11dpo and got a positive. The only "signs" I had were that I was exhausted and eating everything in sight. I would try to relax a few days and test.
I wouldn't read too much into your symptoms. I have been TTC #2 for 15 months now and every.single.effing.month I have the symptoms that convince me I am pregnant. But nope, still not pregnant
I don't even bother to pay attention to sore boobs, twinges in ute, heartburn, or whatever else I can imagine up. LOL
But then again, I am not sure I am the best one to give TTC advice right now. I am pretty emotionally beat up right now by it. So frustrating!
Anyway, welcome to the board! If you need any other advice let us know. There are a lot of TTC'ers on here that could be a great resource to you
BTW, are you charting yet? I highly recommend doing so! Click on my siggy to get started. I see you have an ovulation calculator in your siggy, but word to the wise, those things are useless. GL to you! Hope to see a BFP post from you soon
