Cleaning microfiber furniture

I really want to clean it myself because I don't need to keep it nice forever. Anyway, the kids are at the perfect height that my couches get drooled on, snotted on and whatever else. Even though I clean it up as soon as I notice it with dawn and water I can still always see where it was. Any ideas on cleaning up all those spots? They are clean, just still noticeable...

Re: Cleaning microfiber furniture

  • can you remove the covers? If so, you can wash them in your washing machine and let them air dry. That's the only way we were able to get our couch cushions looking decent (although they don't stay that way for long!)

  • Do you have a steam cleaner?  I have used the attachments and steam cleaned my couches and it works great.  I use the same cleaner that I use on my carpets.

  • Mine has a 7 year warranty and I had them come out and clean the water spots off because I could get it clean but the spots still showed up. The guy that came out told me to use spray bottle with a mild detergent and water and wet the whole cushion, not just the spot you are trying to clean. When you spot treat is when you get the water spots.  Rub it gently with a cloth all over and then you can use a shop vac to suction out any excess water or just let it air dry. I just used a dry towel to try and absorb any excess water but there really wasn't much when I used the spray bottle. I let it finish air drying and they look new again.
