I absolutely love the florist I used for my wedding. His name is Lou and he owns The Arrangement Florist on Waters Ave. The coordinator at my venue referred me and when I met him I knew he was a godsend. I gave him my "small" 1,000 budget and he gave me everything that the other 3 places I went to couldn't do for less than 2,400. I couldn't say enough about him. He doesn't have a website but here is his #.

Naw, I can't recommend my florist or my baker to be honest. Plus they are in SRQ, so not much help. H and I did though, eat 16 month old wedding cake last night and it was just as tasty as the night of our wedding.

I have worked with Lou, he is great like pp said.
I love looove working with Debbie at the Bride's Bouquet -- www.thebridesb.com She gives the best prices in the area for the most flowers as far as I can see.
I used Dana Dineen for my wedding and she is great - she is very artistic and she definitely has a distinct personality so your friend would want to meet with her to see if they meshed. www.danadineen.com
I also work a lot with Scott at Apple Blossoms, he does some really cool stuff.
For bakeries.. I like Publix Greenwise, Cakes Plus (their secret recipe cake), Chef Nelson (most reasonable.. even cheaper than Publix), and A Piece of Cake. Also, we used Sweets by Mindy, I think she is still on this board, for my friends bridal shower and the cake was amazing - we got amaretto.
