NO!!!

But we're hoping to soon. H has been applying to jobs like crazy (he's been home sick for three weeks and stir crazy to say the least). I'm hoping sooner than later, but he's hoping in the next three years. :/

Re: Jen812

  • I thought you were moving immediately. I hope your H is able to find something soon. What kind of work does he do? Chicago, right? He's been sick for 3 weeks? ? Yuck. I hope you & bean don't get sick.

  • Fortunately, he isn't contagious. He has been having a severe Crohn's flare. He is back at work today, but I honestly don't think he'll make it a whole day. He is miserable.

I wish we were moving immediately. We have talked about it since I came back from Chicago and we are both (seemingly) ready to go whenever he gets the right offer. It's just a matter of when.  He is a biologist, but also does GIS mapping and manages construction projects around the county. He does the jobs of three people, which is nice for his resume. Not so nice for our bank account, though.

  • I hope he's feeling better soon. That stinks. From what I hear, crohn's is no fun: ( Sorry about the bad formatting. I need to learn how to make paragraphs on my phone. Regarding the job hunt... on the bright side, your H should have a 3x better chance of finding a great job. What will you be doing once you move?

  • I hope so, too. On both accounts. :)

I'm not really sure what I'll be doing. It depends on how much school I finish before we move. In an ideal scenario, he will be making enough that I can stay home and take care of Bean (in lieu of paying for child care) and finish school up there after a year of residency.

  • Sounds great. Do you have family up there? How much school do you have left? When are we going to schedule our WAAAYY in advance GTG?

I know a few people up there, but no family (which is a good, good thing!). I will have my AA next summer, and transfer to USF in the fall. I have a long way to go, but I will get there eventually. :)

When do you want to have it?

  • I don't blame you re: being okay with the family not being nearby. What made you want to move there then? I've never been, I don't know what it's like. How's September sound for the grand GTG?

  • I have always had a thing with Chicago, I'm not sure why. And after I visited there recently, I just feel like that is the place for me. I missed it even before I left. September sounds good! I have nothing going on that month so far. :)
  • Sounds good. Chicago seems like a cool place, with lots to do. We need to get everybody on board with the super super grand GTG.
