There were a zillion ka-trillion public events going on this weekend. Did you go a festival? Do tell.

Re: Your weekend
We went to Founders Fest. We had a great time - good music, good beer and ZOMG Zack Morris was there!!! JK - I didn't go cuckoo bananas over him, but he did play and sing w/the Founders All Stars and then I saw him in line getting beer. I actually felt kind of bad because he was being hounded by drunk girls who wanted their picture with him - but he was very obliging and polite from what I saw.
We wanted to go to G Love last night, but it didn't work w/our family schedules unfortunately. :-( I'd love to hear if anyone else saw the show how it was!
We didn't do any festivals.
But we had a pretty great weekend, nonetheless! The highlights:
Going to Grand Haven and doing some pier/beach walking.
Hanging out and drinking coffee at a bookstore (one of our new favorite pasttimes).
Buying new roller blades for me -- my first new pair in 13 years! 10 minutes into my first skate, I got a small stick caught in the wheel well and wiped out, scraping up my brand-new skates.
Sad Kasa.
No - Grad party on Friday night and two simultaneous bday parties and photo session and father's day dinner out on Saturday night. I had bookmarked a couple festivals to do last weekend but it just got too busy. I am devastated that we won't be able to go to the second annual greek festival due to being out of town for Disney. Will someone else please go and enjoy it for me <teardrop>?
Was the beach survivor thing still going on when you came out? If so, that *might* count as a festival
Did you see the free paddle boarding? L went crazy over that and had to do it. I think it was going on until 4 p.m.
Yes, it was still going on. We watched a couple of groups run the obstacle course.
We didn't see free paddle boarding though! That sounds fun.
I'm sorry! You should have kicked it old school and went to the rollerskating rink first! Did you know that they will let you bring in rollerblades off the street in there? I didn't. I pulled them out after 10 years of being dormant for a couple birthday parties DD got invited to? And by golly, they still work!
Did you get a Bill Steffen shirt?? I heard he was going to be there selling the shirts we got at the lip dub (profits going to charity).
I know how to skate -- I skate all the time and haven't fallen in 10 years. It was just really shitty luck.
I didn't know that you could take rollerblades into a rollerskating rink! Interesting.
No, I didn't see him or his shirts.
However, I did see a guy walking down the street by my office wearing one recently! I thought of you.
Oh, I figured you did but wouldn't it have been cool to see the flashing colorful lights on your brand new shiny rollerblades first?
I will gladly take care of this for you.
My family got together on Friday night for Father's day. Saturday I canned strawberry jam (which is awesome, if I do say so myself) and then we had to go to a wedding for one of Mike's second cousins. She is a really sweet girl so we were happy to celebrate with her. The only down side was about 10 different people from Mike's family that I rarely see told us we need to start trying for our second child. UGH STFU. I was very annoyed. But I wore really hot shoes and that made up for the kind of ugly conversations. I love them as they were some of the first LV shoes I bought when I started working there.
Then on Sunday we rode our bikes and ate ribs. Awesome.
I love this. Awesome shoes make everything better.
Opinionated, meddling family members suck though.
Loui's???
Oui.
le photo?
I feel very vulnerable - hahaha, but here it goes.
I know they aren't for everyone, but I love them.
I wore them with a navy v-neck dress and fuchsia beaded necklace.
OMG! Don't!!! lOVE THEM and love the ensemble. I would have done something very similar. I would love to own a pair of shoes with a loud print and let those be the centerpiece. I am a terrible shoe shopper though and get so overwhelmed that I never end up buying anything.
Oh yay! I feel better - ha.
I am awful at shopping, it was just really easy at the store. Louis never goes on sale, so what ever is left at the end of the season they let the employees buy at 85% off. I actually bought a few things at 95% off. Crazy. So mostly it was my boss saying, "You should buy this." Plus i had the whole season to swoon over things and try on different pieces before having to actually commit.
Wow, what an awesome job. I'd prob be broke working there though! ha. I wish I could use my purchasing background to get into fashion and be a buyer. No experience though.
So as far as this weekend; I had big aspirations. I wanted to go to the Art thing at Reeds Lake on Saturday, and go to Founders Fest on Saturday night. Instead MH's best friend took me out on Friday night out in Eastown and we tore it up, so I wasn't able to do anything on Saturday. :-( I did make it to the G. Love show at the Gardens on Sunday. I loved it! The opener was awesome, G. Love was amazing. Definitely worth seeing! Had a blast!
