Re: NOTW: Ask Me Anything :)
DH and I met at a bar when I was in college back in 2006. We were both pretty drunk and started dancing together. At the end of the night, we exchanged numbers and I went back home with my roommate. I texted him the next morning because I couldn't quite remember much. We texted for a while, then exchanged IM names. Over the next few weeks, we crossed paths while out around town. We finally went on our first "date" about 2 months after meeting and the rest is history.
When we first met, I wasn't even close to get ready to settle down. I thought he was a nice guy. He was always a real gentleman. The first night we met, I didn't have many thoughts, so I honestly couldn't tell ya.
We have a black/chocolate lab mix. Her name, Tara, was her name when we adopted her 2 1/2 years ago. Since she's 9 we didn't want to change it on her, so it stayed.
I love scrapbooking, photography, and reading. I've recently started going to the gym everyday and hitting the pool after, so that's kept me busy. Is cleaning a hobby? Because I really enjoy doing that too! It's definitely therapeutic for me!
Can you rub some of that off on me?
Do you get sick of all the vacationers? I know you are in Clermont, but that is still close enough. I think I would get annoyed...
Gladly
DH thinks I'm crazy too!
We don't have it too bad in Clermont, but in Orlando it does get annoying. The malls are always busy and parking is a PITA, along with the traffic on most major highways. The upside to it all is that there's a ton of great restaurants and lots of different things to do around town.
There's an awesome bumper sticker that I've seen here before that says "If it's tourist season, why can't we shoot 'em?" It's perfect! All in all, we're very happy where we live and haven't had any regrets about moving here.
Where did you move from?
Pennsylvania...both of our families are from there, actually ALL of our family is there. We've been here for 3 1/2 years now and it's flown by.
Why did you move?
DH's job...his boss he worked for in PA moved down here about 6 months before we did to work for his uncle. He wanted DH to work for him at his uncle's company. The timing was perfect b/c I had just graduated from college like 2 weeks before we moved. Luckily DH has great job security b/c his boss is his best friend and the CEO is his boss's uncle.
It definitely wasn't an easy decision to make but my parents were very encouraging. They went through pretty much the same thing right after they got married so that helped us make our decision. It gets difficult around certain holidays that we can't fly home or just those hard days when you want to be "home." We're doing much better money-wise and job-wise here than if we hadn't moved though and we haven't talked of moving back home anytime soon.
Ok....be patient while I try to PIP.
This is SUCH a rude question... but what is your IRL name? I always think of you as being Lily b/c that is what I read your Nest name as.
What is an annoying habit your husband has that drives you crazy?
Do you ever miss the Northeast winters?
Ok...I don't have the energy to fight with this tonight so here are the tiny links..of course they're not clicky because I'm not that intelligent. Sorry!
