Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Argh. Stupid Renter
We bought a four-plex and renovated it with a partner. Our first renter, (Against my recommendation mind you, but what the heck do I know) was our partner's cousin. She signed a 6 month lease.
She now informed DH that she (supposedly) gave her 30 days notice to our partner's wife (verbally, mind you) She is also claiming that she talked to our partner and had a verbal agreement of a month to month lease. However we have the SIGNED lease stating that her lease was 6 months.
This is the second renter that has fallen through in the past 2 months. The other one was another doozy that's a whole other story.
Funny thing was, I called ALL of this. I told DH and partner that we needed to screen our tenants including credit checks, I also said that we shouldn't rent to family. According to them I was COMPLETELY overreacting, etc. You know, because I didn't run the Montana Tenant-Landlord hotline for a year. So I know NOTHING about rental law.
I feel like punching something.
