Rusty asked me this weekend what I wanted to do for our anniversary and I was surprised because I hadn't even thought about it. I said dinner and a $20 limit on gifts because we just landscaped our from yard, bought a new entertainment center, and a new desktop computer. He wants to stick with the traditional cotton theme, but I am lost on what to get him. Any suggestions? What are you all getting your husbands?
Re: Anniversary Gifts
I don't have any idea what to get Steve. We're going out to a nice dinner and on the 15th we're heading to the movies for openning night of HP7 part 2... gifts have not been discussed though.
I do joke with him that we should get shirts with the 7/11 store logo on them lol.

This is us, exactly. We're saying Europe is partly our anniversary gifts to each other. If we were going to be home, we'd probably just go out to a nice dinner, but we're going to be at a friends' 4th of July party on a lake.
Ricky is getting a baby - lots of cotton onesies :-)
I don't think he will be getting an actual present this year due to financial restrictions (maternity leave a week early didn't help). If I think of something I will post it!
Sorry! To answer your original question about the traditional gifts. I would do something like nice new sheets for the bed. But that would be tough with a $20 price limit. Maybe you could have a throw pillow or blanket embroidered or customized somehow? A nice cozy bathrobe or something would work too. Good luck!
Haha, ok, I'll try harder. What about a t-shirt quilt, or something like that (trying to stick to the cotton theme). I think they're fairly easy to make on your own (says the girl who cannot sew a stitch), and you could use some of Rusty's favorite old t-shirts, or maybe even some of Parker's?
My MIL & BIL all during our engagement would refer to our wedding as "Operation Slurpee." It drove A and I nuts so they were banned from referring to the wedding as that once we all got down to WPB. When BIL came out to PA last year in July he went for a run and came back w/ slurpee's for both of us and said Happy Anniversary. Lol
Our anniversary present to each other is our vacation in August. On our actual anniversary we are going to go out to dinner, exchange cards & read our vows (the ones we wrote not the traditional ones that we also said) so just low key.
I like the idea of a t-shirt quilt, a new shirt he wants. Can you do a combined gift, if it was $40 you could get some decent sheets, or something you would both benefit from!
That's better!
I like the idea of a T-shirt quilt, but I don't think I could make one in time with the babe and all. I definitely couldn't do it without him knowing. A lady at work just got a new embroidery maching so I might see if she will make something and I can make a pillow out of it!
I thought about sheets because we need some for our spare bed, but I would rather just buy those and not make it our gift. If that makes any sense...
We will probably grab a bite and have a few little gifts-we aren't big "gifters".
I'm going to ask for a cookbook that I really want and I think Iw ill get Sean a tripod for our camera..we are so exciting!
R got to the church a 1/2 hr early on our wedding day. So he and his brother went to 7-11, got their free slurpees and came back. He said it did wonders for calming his nerves :-) I'm just glad he didn't get a blue one!
I'll throw out a couple ideas...
For xmas I gave DH a throw blanket that I ordered from the Costco photo center. It has a photo of us woven into it from when we took our picture with the parrots/macaws last summer in Maui. He loves it, and it seriously looks like us!
On our honeymoon we bought a really cool map of Maui that's called a giclee print or something like that. Anyhoo, it's printed on a canvaslike material. If you're going away on vacation this summer perhaps you could look for something like that on your trip.
Something sexy? LOL...
I'm not going to be much help because I think our anniversary gifts will be a weekend get away. At least that's the plan right now, provided we can figure out where we want to go.
Hmm... maybe a polo shirt or some sexy/funny boxers?
Haha yeah right...I would need 2 outfits...one for me and one for my extra skin!
