Romantic weekend in town?

Anyone have a recommendation for a vacation in town? I'm due a week after our 5-year anniversary so I think taking our normal vacation isn't too smart. Does anyone have a recommendation for a fall vacation within 30 minutes of downtown Baltimore? I was thinking about staying in the Inner Harbor, but kind of would like to get to the middle of nowhere... It'd also need to be a place we could cancel reservations in case I go early.

Thanks!

  • Head up to havre de grace. There are some lovely B&B's and lots of little shops to meander through. I am sure there are more places I just can't think of them at the moment!
  • Downtown Annapolis has a lot of B&Bs or some nice hotels, plus it's right on the water. It might be a little bit more than 30 minutes from downtown Baltimore. Lots of shopping, a really nice downtown area, tours available, etc. It's a great place.

  • I second Annapolis.

  • Ooh, I like the idea of Annapolis. We've only been there two or three times since moving here three years ago and it's so cute. We've always done dinner, so it'd be nice to spend a day. We haven't really spent anytime exploring.
