Tell me it will be okay- DH & extreme sports!
My dear husband has organized a bachelor party for one of his best friends this coming weekend and they have decided to go skydiving and white water rafting. I'm sure there are risks with rafting, but I've been before and that doesn't make me nervous. But skydiving?! I'm a nervous-wreck over this! I am telling myself that I know plenty of people who have done it, driving a car is probably more dangerous statistically speaking, and I'm sure it will be fine. Right?! I keep joking about how our Disney trip is 2.5 weeks later any fatalities or injures would really put a damper on things. Sad that that is what I am most focused on! Oy vey!
Re: Tell me it will be okay- DH & extreme sports!
I know 3 guys who are in the 82nd Airborne and another friend (former army) who goes skydiving periodically. I think that covers the spectrum of guys who do this all the time (sometimes under fire) and guys who do it every now and then--- all of them are safe and sound and in one piece.
Those skydiving outifts pay EXTREMELY high premiums for liability, so you can guess that if they're still in business, then they are an outfit taking every precaution and double-checking every chute they pack to make sure that it's safe.
Are they going through the outfit down near Scarborough? I forget what they're called but my friend trusts them and they have a good reputation.
The boys will be fine-- and, usually, the first jump is done attached to an instructor so the first jump isn't done solo...
Hope that all helps!
Me too!
A lot of my friends have been skydiving and without exception, they've been safe and enjoyed the experience. He will be just fine!
This! More errors come from stupidity
Totally true! This group of boys have been known to get quiet festive in the past and DH said they are tired of the beer and girls type bachelor party. So it is so it's pretty cute to see them grow up and do activities like this.
They are skydiving at Skydive New England in Lebanon, which is really highly regarded, and he'll jump tandem with a pro so I'm sure he'll be fine! Thanks for the reassurance ladies!
We jumped in Lebanon and live to tell about it!
Who's bach party is it?
I knew you went there and was thinking about you! I'm sure he'll be fine. I'm just a worrier!
It's Steve B's party. Never thought we'd see the day!
