DIY Mani's

Anyone regularly do their own nails?  I just tried to DIY a french mani, but I definitely need some practice.  I'm fine with regular colors though.

I just wish they didn't chip in couple days.

Re: DIY Mani's

  • I always find that my nails bubble a lot when I do them. I don't know how to not make them bubble. I usually get frustrated and take the polish off within a day and go get them done someplace.

  • I think I read a long time ago that shaking the bottle results in bubbles and you should roll the bottle to avoid that. I feel like I've seen the manicure people shake them though...

I would love for my nails to grow so I could go get a manicure!

  • I can always get my left hand looking great, but my right hand is a mess. I have given up and just get them done every 2-3 weeks.

I've heard that too and have been rolling the bottles between my hands for a while now but still get bubbles Sad

  • I would ruin a one car funeral, let alone try to do my nails.

    I have a standing appointment every 2 weeks for a mani-pedi

  • I used to have a lot of bubble issues, but lately with my newer polishes I haven't had nearly as many issues.

LOL Geo.  I will treat myself every once in a while to getting them done, esp a pedicure, but I'm so rough on my hands that even a salon mani doesn't last long.  I got one before our cruise and by Thursday it was a mess and I even put extra top coats on it.

If you put it on too thick you can get bubbles too.  Make sure the coats dry inbetween.

I just got a mani/pedi over the weekend and my mani has a ton of bubbles (they did a really shitttty job on them) but I could tell it's because he slopped a ton of polish on.  My mom said they'll probably take it off at the hospital anyway so I'm leaving them alone.
