thinning of the herd

have you ever thinned the herd of Nesties on FB ?

Ashley D ( randomly chosen active nestie on here ) and I have 35 mutual friends -- only 15 still post here )

I don't want to be friends with someone just for the numbers ... ugh.

Re: thinning of the herd

  • No, but I'm not FB friends with that many nesties.  I'm like you - I don't want to be FB friends with someone just for the numbers.
  • I've deleted a few over the years but I need to think them out again.  There are some I'll keep - of course everyone that is still active and those that were for awhile but there are some I really don't have much to do with :)

    PCOS and Endo

Ovarian drilling and endo removed 1/3/12
    BFP - 3/27/12
    Beta's 11, 14, 57, 637, 2800
Sono showed no baby and teeny tiny sac. Waiting to M/C naturally.

  • Ummm I've never thought about it. I do know what you're saying though. The other day I was thinking about going through my FB friends and deleting some that I don't even talk to.. Does the person who you delete knows they've been deleted from your friends list? Or whatever the proper name is called.

  • I have taken some out already, but I don't think they were March 09s. I think they were actually bumpies I met while pregnant with Nate.

There are some that I don't even remember what their screen names are, but I'm pretty sure they are from this board...I could probably stand to eliminate those.

Then there are some who pop in here every few weeks/months that I keep on purpose because I'm nosy like that.

They would only find out if they tried to go to your profile. Then it would tell them that they aren't friends with you.

  • I've never thought of "thinning" the herd  either.  But I do know that I have roughly 35 Mar 09 nestie friends and some of them I haven't seen post in well over a year, but I really don't know if I can defriend them.

I feel that I can still connect with the ones that don't post anymore and at least see what's going on in their lives.

  • I hardly ever delete FB friends.  But I don't throw anything away; I always feel like if I do, I'll want it again the next day.  Same with stuff like FB friends, like I'll suddenly really want to get in touch with that person for some reason.
  • I'm not friends with many of the Nesties that don't post here anymore...but I've been considering doing that. I always find a reason to not delete people, but they're lame reasons, honestly. It's time to drop my friend list.

  • I think, for the most part, I'm still friends with people who post here still, and then the people who used to post a lot (like Trish, Denise, Cincy Meg, Melissa).

  • Yes, I am a habitual FB de-friender. If I haven't ever talked to you here or on FB, then goodbye! I've got enough random crap going on my FB wall w/out people I don't even know updating about stuff I don't really care about. I'm pretty sure I'm still friends with all the still-active posters, and a few oldies like Trish, Denisa and Melissa.
  • I trimmed down.  Nothing against anyone, but pretty much what Ali said-haven't heard from you then I deleted.  Nothing personal, but I don't like my news feed blocked up with people I rarely speak to.
