Must be something in the water down on your street. My friend lives across the street from you and like 3 houses closer to Yale -- she is 7w6d pregnant.
When is your first appointment? I thought at one point you had mentioned to switched to Metro Partners in Women's Health out of Providence -- did you ever make that change? Who is your doc?
Oh really?? That's crazy about your friend! There will be all kinds of little ones in our neighborhood next year
(speaking of our neighborhood - are they doing gas line work on your street? I'm seriously annoyed by this haha. I guess they are also tearing up the roads on my street too this summer. Fun stuff.)
My first appointment is next Wednesday. I did end up switching to Metro Partners, I'm going to see Dr. Thai. I'm really excited to go - but also nervous, I just hope everything is going okay so far. Do they do an U/S at your first appointment?
They are not tearing up the roads by us, but I saw that they are on your street. My dog and I walk that way during our morning walk and we have to avoid a massive hole that is about 8' x 8' wide and about 6' deep at the house on the corner. CRAZY!
I see Dr. LaCoste from that practice. I don't rotate to the other partners until after my glucose test which is in 6 weeks. Then I will see everyone at least once before delivering.
They have a cheap ultrasound machine in their office so they will take a look at your first appointment. You will either see (ultrasound) or hear (doppler) the baby at every appointment. Since it is too early for the doppler, they will look on the ultrasound. It's not a fancy one and I don't even think it prints pictures or anything (at least they never have for me), but it's nice and reassuring. You will go to an u/s tech place (in the same building) for your official ultrasounds.
I had an u/s at 8 weeks due to spotting and my anatomy scan at 19 weeks. I opted not to do the NT scan at 12-14 weeks. Besides that, we used the machine in their office once, but it has just been the doppler otherwise.
When is your first appointment?
FEB 2012 is going to be a GREAT month!!
