7 Deadly Sins -- Sloth

image

Sloth is defined as emotional or spiritual apathy and being physically and emotionally inactive (read: lazy).  Sloth can also indicate a wasting due to lack of use, concerning a person, place, thing, skill, or intangible ideal that would require maintenance, refinement, or support to continue to exist.

Re: 7 Deadly Sins -- Sloth

  • I like to spend my weekends doing absolutely nothing. I seriously love nothing more than just laying on the couch and watching tv. In the summer, I love to just either sit outside or at the beach and relax. This drives J nuts bc he always feels like he needs to do something/go somewhere on days off.

Also, since I have been sick for the past week or so, I have been a TOTAL sloth at work.

  • Totes guilty of sloth. Really, there's nothing I love more than to laze around on a Sunday afternoon and catch up on what's on the DVR.
  • I too am guilty of this sin, but not as much as I used to be. Now that I work full time as opposed to just going to school and working minimal hours I always feel like I need to make use of all of my free time since there just isn't as much of it any more. I do love a good day of sitting on the couch watching movies and not eating one thing that's good for me(hello gluttony!) and doing absolutely nothing that's productive.

  • I'm actually pretty not-guilty on this one.  Even with free time I like to be busy - going ot he movies, out to eat, working around the house.  In the evenings during the week, I generally plop down on the couch and veg in front of the TV, but it's mostly out of pure exhaustion from the day at work.

Generally I'm not one of those people who lounge around for an entire day.  I have been known to not get out of my PJs all day on Sundays, but usually I'm running around doing laundry and cleaning the house though.

  • I'm with Lindsay on this one, I plead 'not guilty' for the most part. I always like to stay busy. We don't have cable, so I never watch tv. If anything I might watch a 1/2 hour show on netflix streaming right before bed. I'm very active and currently nesting like crazy. I make our dinner everynight and work on cleaning or house projects. I also fill up a lot of my time with photography. If anything I'm lazy at work. Yesterday i didn't eat lunch because I didn't feel like walking to my car. Work makes me lazy.
  • I am quite guilty of this one, especially lately, and especially at work.  Being here only a handful of days per week, it takes a LOT for me to focus and actually get something done... for example, today?  I havent done a single thing.  I've been paying bills, balancing my checkbook, filling out Samma's forms for daycare, changing my siggy, photoshopping pics, and writing posts.  I think the only work-related thing I've done so far today is go through the emails I've accumulated over the last 4 days, which hasn't been much.

At home, I'm a little less sloth-like, but when I don't want to do something, I can always find something else to do instead.  If I don't want to do dishes, I will fold laundry.  If I don't want to write in Samma's blog or her baby book, I'll go to bed instead... just stuff like that.  Stuff I know I want to do, or need to do, but I just can't gather the effort and energy to just do it.

  • I wish I could be guilty of this one... too much to do and not enough time to do it. I didnt marry the right person when it comes to helping me out of this as well... we both are terrible about trying to cram too much into a day!
