And I come scuttling back...

So I've been lurking on some of the bump boards recently, and it's reminded me why I ONLY post here.

Those girls are so goddamn bitchy!!!  You would think that being pregnant and all might mellow some of them out.  Some of them are dealing with some really rough issues - infertility and miscarriages, yet they are as bitter as can be.  Not all, just a few.  I'm just always shocked by how nasty some people can be.

I just saw a long thread where they "outed" a girl who they claimed was faking her pregnancy.  Could have been true, but wtf?

This board can't be the only nice board  on here? can it?

Holy crap, what board was that on?

FWIW, I really like my BMB now, but I tried to avoid it for the first trimester, because hearing about losses was hard.  Especially for first timers like us, it's hard not to overanalyze every little twinge.  I was lucky and never had any spotting or cramping, but it's still hard.

I mostly read and posted a little on the Getting Pregnant board on TN, and I think those boards are like any other, that they give people they "know" slack.  I posted something on Getting Pregnant Moms asking for advice about whether to go to PA at Christmas, when baby will likely be 4-6 weeks, and they were pretty harsh and said it was a dumb idea.  A regular just posted about taking her baby to London (she would be an advisor to a class trip) for 2 weeks at about 3 months old, and they were all, have fun!  Um, okay.

Anyway, that was long and boring, sorry.  I think some boards are inhabited by nicer people than others.  The Baby Names board is apparently especially harsh, so I'd definitely warn away from that.

  • Stay away from birth boards until like 10-12 weeks. You will worry over nothing and then not eat cheese and meat. Stay here we are nice :-)
  • I've tried to post to other boards but it's freaking scary!  I posted to the Pets board about how H and I have been on the fence about getting a puppy.  As a response I got "obviously, you haven't read our Q&A section yet, because the 'new puppy' posts are old news and have already been answered."  Then I got a full reprimand about working with a (legitimate) breeder instead of adopting a dog in need.  Apparently, even though my breeder is registered with the American Kennel Club, has pedigrees and bloodline certifications for all her dogs and carefully matches her breedings for health and temperament, she is running a "puppy mill."  WTF?  H and I adopted our cat but I'd much rather train and raise a puppy on my own; it's just the way we feel and if we're not promoting illegal puppy mills or something, what's wrong with going with a breeder?

Anywho, yeah, it's rough out there.  Stay here where everyone is nice!

  • What the fudge is wrong with people? Seriously?

All of these b*tches online are probably meek pantry mice in person. Get a life. I detest when people are a$$holes simply because they're not face to face with someone. If you would not say it to someone's face, it's a good idea not to type it like you're a tough guy.

  • seriously?  making you feel bad for wanting to travel?  or get a purebred puppy?  Give me a break.

I'm definitely sticking around here for the time being.

And the girl that got outed WAS on a birth month board.  *shudder*

I just don't know why people feel the urge to sling around so much internet dicck.  Does it really make you feel that much better to put someone down?

  • How do you out some for not being pregnant on the internet??

The name bored is mean. I do like to go there because it is entertaining but  really do you people care what I name my child?
