blergh

last night, on what was supposed to be my rest night, even though my body was sore from not stretching after my race, i decided to go for a short 3 mile hill run.  huge.mistake.  after 1 mile i had to turn around and WALK back.  so sore.  so so sore.  stretched it out at home and feel much better today.

cooked, cleaned, and prepped crap from 4:30 until 10:30.  I felt like Stephanie!  not what i want to do on a monday night.  and gerren and i are in a funk.  we talked about it and i feel a bit better, but we are still "not crossing our wires in the right spots" as gerren put it.  after 10 years together, this happens occasionally and we work our way through it.  it just makes me feel blah.

horrible dreams last night and even worse allergies today.  but i am trying a new recipe for dinner tonight and i have my pottery class to look forward to.  other than that, tuesday can suck it.

happy summer solstice!

Re: blergh

  • Morning, and Happy First Day of Summer!  Weather is beautiful here but with my "glass is half empty" mood this morning all I can think about is how today is the longest day of the year and from here on we LOSE sunlight.  We've reached the peak and now we're on the downswing.  Doesn't seem fair lol.  My spicy crab and wonton stir fry last night was a success!  It had scallions, shallots, chile peppers, a garlic clove, lump crab meat, lemon grass, peas and some crispy bacon.  Yum!  AND I'm thinking the leftovers will go nicely on top of a portabello mushroom burger for another night.

Other than cooking, I kicked my ass on the treadmill going at my fastest pace since I started using it.  I actually feel ok today (thought I was going to be sore).

Tonight's new recipe is going to be chicken cacciatore (I always order it when we go out for Italian but have never tried actually making it myself - until now!).  I'm hoping it turns out good!

  • F U Tuesday, but huzzah Summer Solstice!

Shauni, good work on the prep/clean/work. I hate doing things on a Monday night. Sorry you are in a funk with G. We've been together over 8 years and it certainly does happen. Hang in there and power through!

I was tired and sweaty at 8:25 a.m. That can't bode well for the remainder of the day.

Last night I came home to the Slomin Shield man running around with MFD. While he signed on for that, I cleaned the kitchen and unloaded the dishwasher. When he left I did the kitchen floor and picked up a bit.

I searched for The Killing in vain On Demand. I need it from the beginning. If anyone hears of a marathon coming up, please let me know. Otherwise I guess I wait for the DVD. Balls. I wanted to do that for my summer show while I'm waiting for my shitty shows (Hells Kitchen, etc) to start.

I watched The Glades on DVR, ate, and read Real Simple. Talked to some neighbors and signed the petition for a Block Party, then got into bed at 9:30.

I slept in my bed, and slept well. Thank God. Still trying to recover from this weekend.

This morning I got up at the butt crack to escort MFD's cousin into town - she has jury duty and had no idea how to get in on the train or where to go. Good deed for the day done.

I do not feel like going to this stupid concert tonight, MFD's stringband is playing in South Philly. Blargh.

Post full recipe IMMEDIATELY.  that sounds divine!

  • Last nigh was mostly a bust. H stayed in town working to finish up my 'new' car (he's fixing the rust and all that's left is painting) while I spent about two hours putting my custom wall words on the wall in my craft room. Using a level, marking the wall, then placing it by myself was torture. So glad it's done. Today I have to go to town to start going to temp agencies to try to get some full-time work. Whoo. I also have a girly doctor check up b/c I have been spotting for some ungodly reason. Of course it finally stops AFER I make an appointment to be seen. *sigh* I'm sure it's nothing, but H wont touch me cause he thinks he's hurting me... that,s getting old really fast

  • Yes, F U Tuesday.

Woke up to a thunderstorm and pouring rain. It will be a great drive to the rink...

Yesterday I skated (what else is new?), went shopping with my mom for new sunglasses and left with new jeans too, and had dinner at Culver's. Got home to find my order from Lululemon and a new Hd Flip cam. :D After a horrible day the new clothes made everything better.

Last night I did a whole lot of nothing besides watching Master Chef and cuddling with the kitties.

  • Last night I went grocery shopping, cooked dinner bbq chicken and noodles, we went to Target, went to get drinks (well Greg drank I had root beer.) I started to look at maternity clothes at Target and they had nothing that was cute. They also had a very small section that had maybe a 2 different shirts shorts, capris and like 1 dress.

  • Terrible Tuesday?

E is pisssed that she has to go with her dad tonight instead of watching Toby's softball game. Hopefully her dad will not want her and drop her off. Mean of me? Probably but she hates it there and I have to make her go.

Last night we had Toby's aunt's 50th birthday party. Got to see some fam and the kids had fun.

Tonight is softball and today is supposed to be 80! I have a run planned and a kitchen to clean.

  • Steph - yay for getting back on track.

tbears - good job on the wall words (post pics...I'm looking for more ideas for Baby Q's nursery).  hope the g-doc can straighten things out.

Xtine - Target and Old Navy are both very hit or miss for maternity clothes.  I had really good luck at Motherhood Maternity, but I also needed clothes that were office appropriate.  (They had great mat-jeans too).

Last night we went to the rental property to install smoke detectors and a couple other odds and ends.  Ended up meeting the tenants as they were there to show their kids the house.  They seem like nice, responsible people which is a huge relief.  K mowed the grass at both houses and til all that was done it was time for bed.  Unfortunately, I had some Mountain Dew last evening, so sleep was elusive.  I was finally ready to pass out at 1:30...and Baby Q wanted to be fed at 2.  No sleep for me.

  • UGH to no sleep Susie!

Don't Old Navy and Target both have a bigger selection of maternity clothes online?

  • Susie- I suck at PIP, but there is one on my FB... I don't think we're friends though. Look for me on some other nesties lists... I'm Carla L. :) I'll see if I can find you too.

  • um...***quietly whispers*** no FU to tuesday for me?

I'm totally going against the grain here, but I'm actually kind of excited for today.  I'm having my first OBGYN visit today.   I think the knocked up thing will finally sink in after today.   I really thought I was going to hate all of this.  I have never wanted kids.  I almost got my tubes tied once.  But I think I might actually be a little excited for this.  Go figure.

  • Shauni - I actually got it right off this website!  If you go to the "what's cooking" board and search for it with the "recipe finder" it should be there!

  • Ahh Tuesday, yesterday was about 95 degrees today it should hit 100, hollah! I am using half a sick day as I have a second round interview this afternoon at 1:30pm and then after that, HR of that company wants me to go meet with them with my resume in hand and professional references. Crossing my fingers and hoping sweet baby jesus can offer me this job. really.want.to.work.elsewhere. Other than that, I'll be home probably around same time as James and we'll most likely bbq since it's too hot to cook inside and we'll see how long I hold out until I blast the A/C.

Leo - good luck!  Fingers crossed.

Dia - yay for doctor confirmation!  I'm excited for you.  I always thought I wanted kids, but kept putting it off, like, not now!  And now that we got pg relatively quickly after we started, I'm having an oh crap kind of week with it.  Like, are we ready?  I worry that I like to sleep too much to be a good mother.

I'm also having a surprisingly good day.  My hunger has finally kicked in - at least I hope this is it!  I've been trying to eat healthy stuff, but stopped at McD's this morning for an egg mcmuffin.  Oops.  I'm now up 5 lbs (on my home scale), and had a little freak out because I was cruising at around 1-2, then 3, and then jumped to 5.  I guess that's what happens when I can actually eat?

I made H take a bump photo this morning, because he keeps wanting to wait until evening, when my bump is always bigger and my hair, etc. is a mess.  And then I had a mini pity party because I think I just look fat today.  Blech.  But then I remember that 18 weeks is halfway to full term, and I want to do a happy dance.

  • Oh Mush- I always knew I wanted to be a mom too but I am more and more getting into the "Am I really going to be a good mom?" "Are we really ready?"

and Yay for being at the halfway mark!!! Are you guys finding out what you are having? Do you know the date when you do?

  • Leo~Good luck!!!

Mush and X~ You're "am I a good mom, can I really do this" will continue. I am not afraid to admit that Toby has come home a couple times to E and I both beyond frustrated with each other and we are sitting in different rooms just crying. :-) It's a never ending feeling. Love it and embrace it! and remember "This too shall pass".

Thanks Jessie and Xtine.  Part of it is that I'm annoyed with H always being so tired after work that he doesn't want to do anything.  I worry that he's going to continue with that when the baby's here, making me do all the work and then resenting him.  Harumph.

Xtine - we have our anatomy scan on July 8th, and plan to find out the sex, if baby cooperates.

  • Yay Alicia! I'm so happy for you!  Mush - I'm not preggers yet, but I worry about that too.

Guys, I have a confession.  I'm PMS-ing and hating the world right now.  I'm so miserable at work and with this on top of it I'm a raging *** right now.  Oh wait, I just took a turn to weepy.  I need help - I don't like being so angry all the time.  This can't all be hormones.

My deal is that I am going to murder your puppies and piss on your rainbows. -diablesse Lilypie Premature Baby tickers
  • Morning.  Just wanted to say hello and at this point I don't care if I get in trouble.  Yesterday was a horrible day.  My stupid co-worker called in sick.  All day yesterday we got yelled at for his f*ck ups.  It was so not cool.  I was so stressed yesterday that my stomach was hurting and I felt so nauseated.  I went home and just started crying.  Luckily Richard was able to comfort me.  I prepared my letter of resignation this morning because I just can't take it anymore and I wanted to be prepared in case we got yelled at today again.  This morning he (the owner) was in a good mood and said good morning to the co-worker that he yelled at us about yesterday.  Color me confused.

I picked up the police report for the accident and the bicyclist stated that she did run a red light.  The witness in the car next to mine said that both of our lights were green and that she was able to see the bicyclist but thinks she blocked her which was why I was not able to see her.  Yes, that is exactly what happenend and I'm glad I had a witness.  The bicyclist was okay and only suffered scrapes to her right hip.  I was VERY glad to hear that she only suffered minor injuries.

  • Leo - GOOD LUCK!

Alicia - Your summation on pregnancy is how I imagine I would feel if I got pregnant. Hurrah for first obgyn appointment!

Deb - Is your resume set? Use your evenings to job hunt on every possible website. It sucks but you have to do it. To be honest, I am not an advocate of quitting before another job is in place, especially in this economy. That's a personal thing though. To not know where my bill money is coming from and not be able to collect unemployment because I resigned scares the shizz out of me to the point where I'd be unable to function at life.

EMiLee - Have you discussed your mood swings with a doc? If they concern you, talk to someone!

    image
  • Emilee - I agree with steph.  Maybe you should talk to someone?  Are you on birth control?

Deb - I'm so glad that the incident with the cyclist worked out for you.  That could have gotten nasty if she tried to be dishonest about it.   And...did you miss me cautiously announcing that I got knocked up?  Went to the doctor and confirmed it.  I'm still really early.  Only 5 weeks along, but it's there.
