Cleaning outdoor furniture?

We have a great patio set. We always keep the cushions in during the winter and they rest is a metal, so its weather safe. We put the cushions out a little too early this year and they are a mess. How can i clean them? They are super thick and covered in a material that is not really canvas or water resistant. Think pottery barn-ish. Im mnot sure if i should just try a mild soap and water and hose the snot out of them? Any ideas, thanks!

Re: Cleaning outdoor furniture?

  • Definitely try this on a hidden area first to see if it affects the coloring, (unzip a cushion and try it on the extra around the hem maybe?) but we had serious mildew problems until I tried the scrubbing bubbles foam spray, left on for a few minutes, like you do with 409.  The extra time left on the material, the less effort it takes to get it out.
