As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Ugh! Friend vent
One of my friends texted me last week saying that she scored an interview at my company. So I put in a good word for her, because she is a pretty awesome employee. Her personal life is a mess and she's not being a great friend lately, but whatever, I figured I'd help her out.
My company is 45 min away from where she lives, but it pays a lot more than your average starting position around here. I know what the starting pay is, and I know what she's being paid now (less than our starting pay). Plus we have pretty great benefits, lots of bonuses and fun things like company picnics, Christmas parties, employee appreciation day. Heck, they even brought donuts in on National Donut Day. For as much as I gripe about my job, it's not a bad company to work for, you know?
So today I ask her when her interview is, full well knowing it's tomorrow at 9 am. She replies that she's going to call and cancel it because the drive isn't worth the pay. Oh, did I mention she'd get an automatic raise in 3 months too?

I hate recommending friends for jobs for the same reason, I've done it a few times and it's only worked out for me once.

No offense taken, I 100% agree. We were supposed to have lunch last week and she completely blew me off and didn't respond to my text or calls.
She's also getting back together with her DB bf who is 6 yrs younger than her, and moving in with him along with her two kids. This is like the 5th time they've broken up and gotten back together in less than a year. Tons of people (including myself) have told her to move on but she's an idiot. I'm pretty much done being friends with her.

Well I, for one, appreciate your usage of the term buttmunch. Haven't heard that one in a long time - always makes me giggle.
Ooooh...that would tick me off.
I very rarely recommend someone unless I know for sh!t sure they will follow through. I would NOT do this for someone who did this to me again.
