Well, around the 25th of May we moved to our new home 2.5 hours away from our old home. A few months ahead of our plan, but you know the story. We found someone to take over our lease so we headed on out of town.
It may be considered well, not smart, but we moved before we had jobs. Take into consideration that we had been saving for a year for this move, and we did have a couple of applications in ahead of time. However, about three and a half weeks and about 14 applications apiece into job searching I have a job! So does DH, but he has a second interview tomorrow.
Now you're saying "wait...what?" lol. Well, we couldn't stay away from restaurants (sigh)... DH had an interview with the GM of a Mexican restaurant last week and he wants him to interview with the Kitchen Manager. If the Kitchen Manager doesn't really need him to cook the the GM will have him serve.
Originally I was told that I would probably be a server and then they would cross train me to cook, but now it is going to be the other way around. That's alright with me though because it's a job, and I will have better menu knowledge this way which will make me a better server in the long run.
So yay on that note. More than likely we won't start until July because we are both going to be counselors at our Pastor's youth basketball camp next week, which both employers are OK with.
One of my brother's got married on June 4th (YAY) .. another is sworn into the Marines and tentatively has a basic training ship date in January 2012.
I think that basically sums up the last month ish of our life!

Heyyyy
Congrats on both of you having jobs! So, are yall going to be working at the same restaurant? It does sound like yall have been really busy lately. Hopefully, things will slow down a bit.
That does sound like some exciting and exhausting few weeks. Congrats on getting jobs in your new city.
What prompted the move 2.5 hours away?
--No, we're not working at the same restaurant.
--What prompted the move was that we are both going back to school *for our bachelor's...* and this school is cheaper than the one I had been attending before the break and has his program (with 100% job placement I might add).
