A and I are going to a wedding for one of my bosses in a few weeks, and was looking for a sitter between 5-12am. A few people offered - a friend of mine from work who watched her last year for a wedding (has no kids of her own) and her favorite teacher's aide from daycare also offered. I'm kind of torn - I think I would prefer her teacher watching her because I know that she can handle her and that she loves her. The girl would be coming from Pine Bush to Newburgh (about a 35 minute drive). What do you think I should pay her for the 7 hours?? I don't want to offend her by offering her something low but have never had to pay a baby sitter before! K will be 22 months (if that matters to people) and would include dinner and bed-time.
TIA
Re: baby-sitting rates....
I get 100$/8 hours and drive almost 40 minutes for babysitting, flat rate for my friends kids.
I usually pay 10 an hour for Jack.
