Re: Momma check-in

  • Kiley isn't doing too much new, she's cruising everywhere and just started walking with us only holding on to one hand instead of both of our hands.
  • Awesome Kiley! The last time I checked in, she was just starting to crawl :)

Jacob is learning some great words these days -- his latest is "bubra," for "zebra." He has the funniest vocab! "Duck," "truck," "lambie" (for his stuffed lamb). He doesn't sign, but usually communicates OK. Yesterday morning he was whining and I said, "I don't know what you want. What do you want?" He then walked to the fridge, pointed at it, pointed at his belly, and walked to his high chair! It was the funniest thing! I was like, "OK. Time to eat" :)

  • Yay Kiley!

That's too funny about Jacob and being hungry.

Xander is starting to add new words to his vocab again. He's saying "thank you" "No Maggie" when yelling at the ILs dog to leave him alone, and "van". He's doing well with holding my hand when we are walking and now he turns to reach for my hand.  His coloring skills are getting much better, and I'm even letting him finger paint now.

  • Felicity's great! Her head control is super, she holds it up on her own when we sit her up, with only the rare bobble. And tummy time today she pushed her head and shoulders up off the ground 3 times to look up and around and she held it for about 30-60secs at a time! Which she's never done before so that was exciting!
    My overly happy baby girl!

  • Oliver can sit up by himself for at least 20seconds if on a hard surface, he is also trying to hard to roll from his back to his tummy....his arm just gets in the way its really cute. We go in next month for his 4mnth check up and shots and I can't wait to find out how much he has grown.

  • Riley took her first steps a few weeks ago, I don't remember if I posted that here. She still preferred crawling up until yesterday. We were at playgroup and she got up and chased me around the whole room and today she has walked around the house more than crawling. It's still kind of weird lol. She has discovered belly buttons and pulls up peoples shirts every opportunity she gets and the new word of the week is "ball". Oh she also loves playing dress up! The past couple weeks she'll go open dresser drawers and hang clothes around her neck, it's adorable. Today I turned around and she had a pair of my (clean) underwear hanging there lol.

  • we're doing great! Laine has slept for 4-5 hours straight the past 2 nights! Well..the first stretch is 4-5 hours (like from 9:30-2:30), then she's up everyone 2-3 again, but at this point, i'll take any sleep i can get!!! i feel like a different person now that i'm finally starting to sleep.

She is still lovin the bathtub, and immediately starts kicking her feet and making all sorts of noises as soon as we go in the bathroom lol

we leave for vacation on tuesday!!! i'm super nervous about the drive, but we're in no hurry, so we'll just stop when we need to, and we'll get there when we get there.

i think my initial weight loss has come to an end.  I'm 3 pounds under where i was when i got pregnant, so i really shouldn't complain at all, but it was just fun to see the number go down and down and down.  I go for my 6 week check on friday, so i guess i'll have to start exercising as long as i get the go ahead.  I'm just kind of bummed/majorly self-conscious because my SIL is going to be at the lakehouse next week and i really don't want to be in a swimsuit around her.  All she talks about is what she eats (or doesn't eat i guess) and all of the working out she does (no kids). Her sister has 2 kids and bounces right back to a 0 after each pregnancy, so that doesn't really help with the whole, what does  a woman look like after having a baby, thing.   Luckily her and my brother will only be there for 3 days in the beginning of our trip, so hopefully i'll either a. get over it or b. be insecure for 3 days and then move on

ok, enough with the body issues...bottom line is that we are doing great :-)
