Since Sunday is fathers's day and next Saturday is DH's birthday, I figured I would kill 2 birds with one stone and take DH out to eat. He likes Mexican, Italian, or seafood, and I am looking for some place that isn't chain or something that is "hole in the wall but amazing" type. I would prefer to stay north of 94 due to where we live and where DH works.
Any ideas?

Re: Need restaurant ideas
It's just a little south of 94 but El Norteno on Lake Street is one of those awesome hole in the wall places. It's run by 3 Mexican sisters and I think their mom. They use all local, sustainable ingredients, everything is handmade right there. I love the flautas and tamales. Their burritos and enchiladas are pretty darn good too. I usually get one of the make your own combos so I can get one of each.
ETA: They're closed Sundays.
Tired after a long morning of hiking and swimming.
Totino's Italian Kitchen in Mounds View.

Totino's is going out of business..they may have already closed. The announcement was made within the last few weeks and I don't know how soon they planned on closing. So sad.
Pretty sure they are still closed. I follow them on FB and what was supposed to be a couple week renovation has turned into months. The update FB occasionally and I haven't seen anything about re-opening.
If they are open though, they have great food. We really like that place.
Ugh! This is terrible news. We had a Groupon to use yet.
