Re: Ladies without babies
Uh, well, I had a gyne appointment yesterday... then I had a few beers at home last night. It's a very exciting life, I'm telling you.
I made a really good pasta salad for dinner...
The cat threw up and then the other cat ate the barf before I could deal with it... which was gross, but sort of helpful, I have to say.
lol, I do have a fun wedding on Saturday (I hope, there will be awkwardness) for a friend I've had for ages and ages. He is the "last of the gang to die", lol.
Where do you think I can buy a cute hat or a fascinator in town? (not mucho dinero)
So yeah, it's all jet-setting around my way. ha.
Yeah that's right my name's Yauch!
Well...as previously mentioned I was up in Massachusetts for a wedding over the past weekend. I drank a lot of prosecco, which was delicious (are you jealous yet?).
Tomorrow night I'm going out to dinner at C19 with a couple of girlfriends because I got a $100 gc for $8 on restaurant.com. Big spender here.
This weekend I'm going out for bday drinks on Saturday night, somewhere that we can sit outside, if the weather cooperates.
Otherwise, my sister's wedding is in 5 weeks, so we have the bachelorette party coming up.
Thrilling stuff.
P.S. SIL's dog usually eats his own puke before anyone can clean it up. I have the same general response -- gross, but helpful.
Last night I went to La Viola with a couple of friend where we ate yummy Italian food and drank lots of wine followed by "dessert" (aka one more glass of wine) at Tria while waiting for my train.
The summer concert line up so far is Foster the People, Death Cab for Cutie, Sia, Airborne Toxic Event, Naked and Famous, and the Popped Music Festival (which if anyone is interested in going to, you should buy your tickets during the pre-sale which ends tomorrow at 10:00PM).
I'm trying to get out to Vegas at the end of July to visit my friend but I have a feeling that won't end up happening. I'll head up to CT to see family a couple of weekends and probably to the lake house in the Poconos for a couple of other weekends.
I was talking to my mom last night while I was on my way into the city. She informed me I live a "charmed little life" because she feels like every time she talks to me, I'm heading into the city to have a nice meal with friends. Part of it is the lack of kids, the other part is that I think I have a habit of calling my mom while on the train and ten times out of ten I'm heading into the city to have fun...
Anyone heading to the Manayunk Arts Festival this weekend? Looks like we're going on Saturday.
Unfortunately my life is not as exciting as above.
Saturday I am heading to the shore for the week. I should probably stock up on some drinks of the alcohol kind as I will be spending the week with my nieces who are 5, 4, & 2. Plus their mother!
Every night is a fabulous whirlwind of parties, drinks, and general merriment.
Or, I'm trying to convince myself that everyone will have fun at our wedding because we are providing booze and music, and I'm way ahead in planning, and everyone loves us and just wants to see us happy. Anxiety? Thy name is Beagle.
My childfree life usually revolves around running. I medaled at my race on Sunday morning. I have another race this upcoming Sunday morning--a 5 miler a few blocks from my house and a mix of road/trail/scenic conditions.
I'm hoping to get down to Memphis Taproom for a hotdog lunch on Saturday with friends. After that, I have dinner plans with my BFF at Xilantro in Wayne.
The mr and I head to the shore for the 4th of July. Cannot wait to enjoy beers every day, nap on the beach, run on the boardwalk and eat TONS of ice cream! No other trips planned, other than a 36 hour trip to Bald Head Island for a destination wedding.
We are hoping to maybe/possibly/if the stars align take a trip to Portland OR some time this year. I have a cousin out there and we'd like to combine our love of running with our enjoyment of their fine adult beverages that are brewed in that region of the world.
I have been spending my spare time (when not running) volunteering for the Race for Hope planning committee.
eta: The mr and I are feverishly shopping for a car. Our lease is up and we aren't going to buy out the rest of the lease. We are having a hard time making a decision...should we stick with the Nissan Altima or switch to the Nissan Rogue?
try urban outfitters for a hat
I have no knowledge of the Altima, but my sister has a Rogue and she loves it. If you have any specific questions, I'd be happy to pass them along.
Ah, my life has been busy but super boring. Right now I'm eating a chobani yogurt, feeling guilty about my lack of motivation to go to the gym lately. I pulled my calf muscle at softball one week and couldn't walk for 3 days. It was bad. We've only won one game, but our team is awesome and I love playing. My calf has been better for 3 weeks... I need to get my @ss back to the gym.
On Tuesdays, Fiona has doggy school. She is a serial leash barker and not doing any better. Apparently chihuahuas are the hardest dogs to train. Esp those who have no skills and are from the hood.
I love her so much though and life is so different now with a dog! I walk so much now.
I'm thinking of picking up another summer activity for once softball and doggy school is over in a few weeks. Possibly cake decorating or going back to guitar lessons.
Other than that, I have vacation from July 1-18!!! And another full week in August. We're going up to my parents for the 4th weekend and then we're going to AC for 2 days sometime during that that time.
We booked a vacation for Sept to Europe, that's pretty much our excitement for the next 3 months combined.
Other than that.. this week I am working crazy hours, and trying to get this house in order. We are attemping to create an exercise room in our spare bedroom, and need to find a treadmill or eliptical (we already have a bike and weight bench). Going to go to yard sales Saturday morning to try to find one. We picked up the other stuff at yard sales super cheap.
Oh and we need to try to fix the bright green mess that is currently known as our pool.
My life is pretty boring lately. School is out, so my time has been spent cleaning the house and organizing my closet. I am about to do a major clothing purge and I am excited about the possibility of more room in my dresser drawers.
Other than that, I am going to the gym several times a week and enjoying cooking more time-consuming meals now that I have the time to do so. Also lots of grilling and eating on the patio...followed by a dip in the pool.
We've done few weekend trips down the shore and have more planned in the coming weeks.
Going to the Phils game this weekend and hoping it doesn't rain.
This is beyond hilarious!
Ooooh! Where are you going??
#1 12.11.11
#2 10.23.13 EDD
Secretly I am ok when this happens at our house.
Erbur, I had a Rogue. I loved it in the beginning, I guess you could call it new car love. But after a while I began to hate it.
Pros: Still high enough off the ground, but not as high as a full size SUV; good gas milage
Cons: The rear window was way smaller than I was used to; the little triangle windows in the rear make it harder to see in your blind spot, and/or check for on-coming traffic. Just the whole design of the back end of the car was hard to get used to. We traded it for a pathfinder. So much happier.
er bur - congrats on medaling in a race!!
i was in nyc the last weekend and it was mutherflipping fantastic.
i'm still recovering.
People got hats and fascintaors for my wedding at TJ Maxx, the thrift store at Bryn Mawr Hospital, a cart at KOP in the Plaza, and Burlington Coat Factory. Random I know.
