It's finally raining in houston. Does that mean they are going to be doing the fireworks afterall? I know they have cancelled them in many areas. How much does it have to rain before they lift the burn ban? I love the rain!!
Re: RAIN!!!
Considering we are at least 10 inches behind in most areas and will be lucky to get 2 inches of rain today I doubt it.
I've already heard that fire dangers are not over because of the rain since high winds will dry the area out again very quickly.
I'm okay with no personal fireworks this year.
Amen.
I am ok with no personal fireworks every year.
So Tasty, So Yummy
its been raining on my side all day which I'm thankful for. I imagine my grass is very happy haha.
I'd be ok with personal fireworks as long as people stopped doing them at like 10:30 AND cleaned up the mess..

A couple days worth of showers won't get the fireworks ban lifted...
And I guess I'm the lone board pyro, I'm disappointed that we won't be able to have fireworks at my parents' house
You are not alone. I've always loved them.
I'm sad that we won't be able to have them but I'm not complaining since it's not worth the risk.
I love them too. On the 4th of July, until about 11pm.
I loathe them on the 5th, 6th, & 7th of July when people can't seem to comprehend that some of their neighbors might need to wake up & go to work in the morning & cannot be up soothing their scared dog so she doesn't pee on my nice floors and yack on my duvet cover until 1am.
I read earlier that they aren't covered under the fireworks ban but that they are covered under the burn ban.
Amen. Especially living in the unincorporated part of Sugar Land.
I'd still buy sparklers for cakes, etc. through the coming year.
super ditto, ESPECIALLY since the kids in our neighborhood are not watched by their parents and therefore stay out super late (and get super close) to the houses... ugh.
