How was your Blowout yesterday?!

Re: *michellebelle*

  • yes, how was it?  I want to see pics!
  • It was ok. The front desk lady switched me from the guy you (warontv) recommended to another girl (Latina, long hair, big tattoo on her right shoulder/arm; cannot remember her name) and not knowing whether she does a good blow out or not I was unsure about her.  She did a good ringlet-intended-to-fall-into-waves style on the customer before me and I asked her what she thought about the blowout lasting all night through dancing.  She recommended the ringlet wave thing so I went with that.

Almost everyone in there was getting ringlet kind of curls that would shake out into waves, and that was fine because of the humidity. It's also something I don't have the patience to do because my hair is so thick so another good reason to give it a try.

I think I'll go again some time when my hair is longer and I want a good blow out or other styling and don't want to be stressed - it was super nice to be ready and not sweaty from all the blow drying. Jerrid did an awesome blow out on another girl with really long hair - he blows dry in really thin layers so you know it'll stay for a couple of days!

I was disappointed when I left though because I realized I?d never been offered my champagne/wine which was part of the appeal of the whole experience. L

Overall it is a cute shop and it?s a nice treat, especially if you have thick hair like I do.  If I was preparing for a bachelorette party I?d totally recommend that we stop there first and get our hair done and early drink on.  The white and turquoise throughout the shop would make for a nice backdrop for those kinds of fun prep pics as well.

My hair also stayed fairly well.  I don?t have a great pic of the hair though.

They didnt offer you alcohol?! How rude. I'm sorry, :( It was Saturday & I know its busy, but not to busy for offering drinks. I saw on the schedule they put you with Angie (the last person I would ever suggest, sadly) I wish I couldve been there for you. I blow dry with multiple brushes, so the blowout LASTS. I hope you give us another try. :)

Yep, that was her.  She did a good job with the whole ringle thing and my hair stayed ok through the night.  Now I know to ask the scheduler to write down "special request" when I ask for you or Jerrid!

Why did you leave hair cutting to go to this model of styling, if you don't mind my asking?

  • Good question. Lol. In Arizona my family owns 4 hair salons & I grew up & worked in them. When I moved here I lost my clientle & its very hard to find a job without a clientle. I applied & interviewed some places but no luck. I like the styling concept, but it isnt my dream job. I miss the full service salons, and continue to look for a job. Till then I do amazing blowouts. :)
