Remember a few weeks ago when we were discussing the Glee season finale, and how they're supposed to graduate next season, and wondering what will happen to the show after that? I guess we have our answer... I don't know how I feel about this yet.
From SFGate.com:
"The current cast of "Glee" including Lea Michele and Cory Monteith will be replaced by new actors next year.
The musical TV hit, set in high school, has taken the world by storm since it first aired in 2009, and has made stars of cast members including Michele, Monteith, Chris Colfer and Dianna Agron.
But to maintain the series' realism, creator Ryan Murphy has decided the current class should graduate in 2012 and leave the show for good.
In an interview on Ryan Seacrest's radio show, he says, "That is true. I don't think of it in terms of eliminating or replacing. Because I think the thing about this cast is people love them and they are incredibly talented. They've left sort of an indelible mark.
"The thing that I wanted to do and the cast wanted to do, we didn't want to have a show where they were in high school for eight years. We really wanted it to be true to that experience. We thought it would be really cool if we were true to the timeline."
But fans won't be too disappointed - Murphy insists the show's older leads Matthew Morrison and Jane Lynch will stay put.
He adds, "We've got Matt Morrison and Jane Lynch who will stay and be the male and female linchpins of the series. But I think the fun thing about the show is it's a celebration of youth and talent and I think that just like with the original cast, I think finding those young unknown people and giving them an opportunity to break into the business and become stars is a really fun and exciting thing and is the spirit of the series."

Tea Time for Lulu
A fairly decent point made here...
But anyways, I think while it will be sad to see them go I can also envision the show being just as entertaining with some new characters, new voices, new dynamics and relationships, and new dramas (I mean, come on, HS has an abundance of them).
So I'm a fan. It's really not a far-out concept. Reality shows do it with great success and the public eats up every iteration.

women want to hear what they think, in a deeper voice
While I've grown attached to the current cast, I can't say for certain how I feel until I see who their replacements will be. I read that they will introduce a number of new characters in the next season, who will ultimately take the place of the people who leave at the end of the year. And some of the current cast will only be Juniors next season, and thus not graduating yet.
Who knows... I may come to really like the new people. Many shows I've liked in the past have written off characters I thought were irreplaceable and would ruin the show by not being there, and then introduced new people I really ended up liking and added a fresh new dynamic to the show.
Heck, they introduced a number of new characters this last season, and even got rid of a couple (like, what ever happened to the black guy from the first season?) Nature of the beast!
I read an interview with Ryan Murphy just the other day where he dispelled that rumor. He said that one person from "The Glee Project" would get an 8 episode arc next season, but that they are not planning on making that person, nor anyone else from that show permanent replacements for the current Glee cast that will be leaving.
I think it's 7 episodes but it could be more. If the audience likes them enough. Either way, it will be interesting to see what happens after next season.
