Cooking knives-sharpening

I think I partially hate cooking becasue my knives suck a$$. Does anyone know where I can bring them to be sharpened??!! TIA!

  • Did your knife block come with a sharpening thing? Looks like a metal dowl? I only know of a place in NYC so I'd suggest one of the electric ones at bb&b

  • i use the metal dowl thing in the knife block. it works fine make sure you run the knife against the grain in the dowl on both sides.

  • Yes I have the metal dowl that comes with the block. I use it on the knives before I cook but it doesn't do much.

  • Maybe the local hardware store?  I know some used to do that. 
  • Warren's in Rhinebeck will do it for sure. If that's a ways out of your way you can google knife sharpening and it should bring up a few places around that will do it.
