Fabric stores

I'm looking to buy fabric to make curtains for our bathroom window. So far I have been to Joann Fabrics and Hancock Fabrics and haven't found anything I like. I am going tomorrow to High Fashion Home, not sure how much they have, their online fabric selection is pretty generic. Does anyone know of any other fabric stores in Houston? I would prefer to stay between Downtown, Galleria and West Houston areas. I am looking for a print fabric, I really like a lot of the Waverly brand fabrics. thanks.

Re: Fabric stores

  • You could also try Glick on 59. I think it's between Greenbriar and Shepherd -- not far if you're already visiting High Fashion.

What about Calico Corners? They have great stuff but it can be pricey. Also, there are a few fabric stores off of Fondren between Westheimer and Richmond. (Can't think of the names at the moment.)

  • Fabrics & More (1960 & Kuykendahl) not as big as High Fashion, but has similar stuff for a lot less $$

www.fabric.com. I LOVE this site!!!! Got all my son's fabric for his crib bedding here and we'll be purchasing fabric from them when we are ready to do drapes. Great great site!

  • Its a niche market, and I'm not sure what look you are looking for, but I LOVE some of the printed fabrics at IKEA.

  • re high fashion: make sure you go in the fabric place in the old building across from HFH, not just HFH.

  • Even if you find something at High Fashion check Glick (59 between Kirby & Greenbriar.)  They had the exact same thing we found at High Fashion at Glick for more than 60% off the price.  I was floored and so excited.  Many of the prints we saw at High Fashion were also at Glick.
  • Thanks for all the suggestions ladies!

I would like to find the fabric in person and not a picture on the internet before I make a decision. I have definitely heard HFH is pricey.

  • I like Fabric.com as well.... I know you said you like to see it in person, but it might be worth checking out still. I have ordered a bunch of swatches from there to help make a decision! They dont do swatches for everything but for more home type fabric I think they do.

  • High Fashion Home is hands down the best place in town for fabric, at least in my opinion.  They have great furniture too.
