Wedding Day Jewelers !?!?!

The other day I somehow managed to bend the heck out of my engagement ring (wedding band is fine).  Not being from MN and the jeweler where I got my ring 400+ miles away, I know have to find a jeweler here to fix it.  I have seen the ads for Shane Co and Wedding Day and with WD being so much closer, was wondering if anyone has been to a WD and what they thought?

Re: Wedding Day Jewelers !?!?!

  • I would not really recommend them.  Shane would be better.  Also, if you are near downtown, Thomas Joseph and Sons is fabulous.  I was turned on to them by the lovely Flip and I've used them numerous times since.

    We're kind of going out.
  • I've never had a problem with Wedding Day. That's where DH got my e-ring. They've always been quite friendly and helpful. I have only been to the Eden Prarie location though - I have no idea how the other locations are.
  • I don't know anything about Wedding Day Jewelers, but I go to Gold 'N Treasures on Grand Ave in St. Paul and LOVE them. They are so nice and helpful and not pushy and they have great prices. I go in maybe every 6 months or so (if that) and they remember me. It's a very small shop.

  • We have had HORRIBLE experiences with wedding day - I would go elsewhere

My aunt and cousin love going to Gold 'N Treasures and get some very cool custom pieces there.  I went once, by myself, totally dressed like crap, and they were really nice and helped me pick out earrings.

DH got my rings from Shane.  There was a screw up when I went back to get the diamond reset into a different band so I had to wait 3 weeks to get them instead of the 1 they originally said.  I haven't had any problems with my rings and it has been 5 years so they did good work, it just took a while.

  • I'd recommend Waldeland in Eagan. They're a family owned store that does all their work on site. If you're in Lakeville, they're not far from you, and I cannot say enough good things about their customer service.
  • We have been happy with Shane Co in Minnetonka.  I get my ring re-dipped every year and have had zero problems.

  • I am from southern Minnesota so no clue.
  • H got my rings from Rogers & Hollands, and we've had great experiences there since that.  I forgot to go within 6 months of getting the band and they still fixed it for free and redipped both the e-ring and wedding band.  We've always gone to the Rosedale location, if that helps at all.
