Baby-friendly Restaurants?

I never took notice of what restaurants we could eat dinner at with the baby. There's Applebees...but that's not really a favorite. Any suggestions?

we brought J everywhere from day 1. she's 99% wonderful when we go out to eat. She still has her moments, but she's 2 so I expect it. N has been out and been very well behaved as well. We don't go out as often as we did when J was little though

Chelo's is always family friendly. But, really I'm sure just about any restaurant would be fine, especially with a tiny baby! Have fun

We take DD everywhere, have since she was born. I guess it depends on how good the baby is when you go out. Some places other than chain restaurants are 1149, Grill on Main, Rick's Roadhouse (it is loud and you can go early before the drinking crowd), we go earlier to any place on Federal Hill, Latitude, I can't think of anywhere else right now... I can never seem to think of restaurants when I want to. Liek when we are going to dinner and don't have a place to go, we end up driving around forever sometimes.

Really? I guess I never noticed babies or children at these restaurants (Grille on Main, 1149, Tyler Point, Fed Hill, etc.). I always assumed that it would just be a faux pas to walk in with a baby. Another new mommy lesson for me Yes

It's a good point to go early, though... before the drinking crowd!

I think we'll try it!

Liam does great at daves bar as grill because there are lots of tvs, people to flirt with, and ceiling fans. Ceiling fans were a huge source of entertainment last year. I'm sure most sports bar are similar. As pp said, we also tend to go earlier. We've been to flippou's pizza in east Greenwich twice and he loves sitting outside and watching cars go by on main st.

We also bring DS most places. He's been to On The Border, Olive Garden, Smokey Bones, and Taste of India. Taste of India didn't have anything to put his carseat on, so he was just on the floor, but it was fine and the staff was great. Olive Garden was easiest, they have high chairs, but the carseat fits great sideways on their chairs so you can easily move them around if you need to. He's been great so far, but if he really starts wailing, I'll just take him to the car. The only place we didn't take him was to the Capital Grille when we went for our anniversary.

Great suggestion to get there early - I totally agree! It's much easier if there is no wait. Quicker in, means quicker out, which means less time for the baby to get antsy!

the only place that we went to that didn't have a high chair was the zbar so she just sat (i mean, climbed around) on our laps.

GO OUT AS MUCH AS YOU CAN!! It is soo much easier with a tiny sleepy baby! lol

April has been to all the places we have since she was born! Most places have high chairs and you can just flip them to put the carrier on. The only place we wouldn't take her is Oki's (which we're going to this weekend is why I mention it). Or maybe someplace really fancy, but we don't go to fancy places! We did go to CAV for brunch with my girlfriends and it was even fine there.

We've brought J out a few times and it's always worked out well - TGI Friday's booths fit the car seat perfectly so the baby is facing outward (like they are sitting at the table with you lol), Smokey Bones has little contraptions to put the seat in, etc.

And we ended up taking April to Oki's. It was fine, we just put her a bit away from the table. She seemed to enjoy the show.
