QOTD

What is your favorite thing about the city you currently live in?

Re: QOTD

  • I love that it's really a "walking" city. It's honestly small enough that, if you wanted to, you could walk from one end to the opposite end over the course of a lovely day.

Boston is definitely a walking city.  I used to walk it all the time when I lived there.

Where I am now has just about everything we need without having to leave town.

  • The city provided 'services' are pretty stellar. We don't have to find private companies for anything. Our trash pick up is timely, we get extremely good response time for other services as well, so many other service providers (cable/internet) are available to us that companies are competitive with rates and the freeway/interstate access is almost as accessible as they were when we lived in the large Metro city closest to us.
  • I like the small town feel in this "big" town and the fact that it's all centered around the university.

  • For a smaller city we have a lot of really great cultural options, great museums, good shows that come here, we're a days drive from a lot of major cities (Toronto, NYC, Boston).

  • I like that we live in a smaller community but have the advantage of also being in a large metropolis at the same time. I am so grateful to live in the suburbs and not the city.

I totally agree with this. We're maybe 30 minutes outside of downtown, which keeps it close enough for us to take advantage of the restaurants, museums, theatre, and sports. But we still get the benefits of being in a suburb- bigger house, bigger yard, better schools, more relaxed.

  • Similar to Whit and Brie, I like being in the suburbs but close to big cities in either direction. I also really like and often feel so lucky to live in such a historical area of our country's history.

  • It's such an affordable place to live. I can't get over what some houses cost in other areas of the country. I also love being in a city with a big university...winning the basketball championship in 2003 changed the city. Oh and yeah, we have the best grocery store in the world...Teresa and maybe some in PA and VA know all abou Wegmans.

  • The only good thing I can say about it is that we have everything in terms of stores and restaurants. Everything is within 5 miles pretty much. Otherwise I hate the city I live in. It's nothing but white trash and has a horrible reputation.
