Cooked Sour Cream Recipe?
Anyone have a cooked sour cream recipe? My dad's birthday is coming up and I'm making him his favorite cake - spice cake with a cooked sour cream recipe. I can't find a recipe anywhere (well, I found one but with no measurements......

i don't have a spice cake recipe but i do have a Chocolate Chip Crumb Cake recipe that uses sour cream. this Apple Spice Cake uses yogurt but may give you a better idea of the other measurements.

Now I'm intrigued... I'd never heard of cooked sour cream frosting, and it seems no one on the internet has either! Strange!

You're positive he meant sour cream and not cream cheese?
I am going to call my mom (she has made it before put does not remember the measurements) but I think this is it. Remember, my dad is 82 so this is an old fashioned frosting ;o)
3/4 cup confectioner's sugar
2 Tb sour cream
Mix together and stir over low heat until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in
1/4 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp water
This will glaze one bundt cake.
