Hi ladies!  I just wanted to introduce myself!  I'm Kerri and my H and I were married 3 weeks ago today on June 3, 2011.

    Hi Kerri! Welcome, and congratulations on your marriage! This is a great board. I haven't been able to go to any nestie GTG's, but I know they occur pretty regularly. Hopefully someone will pop in with that information so you can meet some of these ladies.

      We like to do anything really :-).  We go watch movies, spend time with his grandparents (they are AWESOME), bowling, shopping.

      I teach 2nd grade and he works in IT at OU

       Oh, and I'm very impatiently waiting for wedding pictures ;-)

    I hope you get your pictures soon! We had a little drama and it took 5 months to get ours. The wait was horrible!

    There are quite a few teachers on this board. I'm currently in school working towards my Math Education degree. Hopefully I'll be teaching in a couple years.

I kind of wanted to do Elementary Education, but decided I wanted to specify in Math.

    Yes, you'd have to be certified in Elementary Ed. My degree is in Math, but I took the Elem. Ed, Secondary Math, Intermediate Math, and English OSAT's so there's a broader range of subjects I can teach. If you think you'd be interested in elementary at some point you should definitely get certified--I think it can help make you more employable for the future as well.

    That sounds like a pretty good plan! I'll keep that in mind when it's time to take the OSAT's. So did you also take both the OPTE PK-8 and OPTE 6-12?

    Yep, I took both OPTE's. Lots of testing but definitely worth it since it's already allowed me to branch out and teach different areas.
