How loyal are you to your job/employer?
I decided this week to start updating my resume in case I find a job that would be interesting. I would entertain a job offer that was at least 10% more than what I make now if it was a lateral move. I am not in love with my job. I am getting a little bored of it. I would feel bad about abandoning people here, but we would all get over it.

Re: How loyal are you to your job/employer?
This is me. If one of 4-6 schools closer to our hometown offered me a job, even if the pay was worse, I'd take them. If not, I love my job and have no desire to hunt for a new one.

I am not in love with my job but the pay is good and benefits are awesome. The main reason I do not love my job is because of my boss and another co-worker (boss and co-worker are good buddies so theres alot of favortism in our office). Everyone but bosses buddy gets blamed for everything that goes wrong when the buddy is the one causing problems. She lies to people all the time and is very rude but nothing is ever said to her.
Anyways Wednesday myself and out student employees were told that boss was leaving soon (as in quiting) and her office buddy (was not here that day) was not going to return to work but would be in to pick up her stuff and return her keys (both are leaving because of medical issues). Well I get here this morning after being out yesterday and they are both here; I have not been able to talk to anyone to see what is going on because they have been in meetings.
If boss and her buddy leave I plan to stay but if they stay I will be looking for another job. I can not deal with and neither can our students.
I like my job.. sometimes. My step-dad owns the company, but I work under someone else. It is funny, but I am the only person in the office that does not take advantage, which people always think I get "the best interest" when I tell them it is family owned. Completly opposite. I make decent money, but I have no retirement and no benefits. I do have a company cell phone though, like everyone else and my gas is paid for during the week because I am always using my car for work, which they also pay for a lot of maintenance, but I make my own car payments and a few other people have company cars that they get to use for personal time as well. I sound like I am complaining, but my job is not bad. I do not intend on staying here forever, and my step-dad knows that, but I also told him when I do start looking, I will let him know so I can train someone before I go. I let myself get too emotionally invloved and stressed out with the company I work for, which is not always bad (to have that dedication and drive), but I let it get bad and can't keep it at work.
If I someday find a job, with similar pay and benefits, I would take the job.
