Favorite vitamin/supplement
Laurie inspired me on this one by her probiotic suggestion.
What is your favorite supplement (the one you would not want to stop taking) and what does it do for you? Please include the brand if you know it :-)

Re: Favorite vitamin/supplement
Fish Oil. SOOO good for you in SO many ways. We buy the liquid kind at the Vitamin Shop, Carlson is what most people at our gym take, we take something else though that I cant remember.
Vitamin D is also something that is really good for you and most people are lacking. We get the Costco brand.
- It regulates the levels of calcium and phosphate in the bloodstream,
and it promotes the mineralization and growth of bones, working
together with calcium, vitamin A, and vitamin K2. Severe deficiency can cause rickets.
- It plays a massive role in the immune response, activating and
?arming? the killer T-cells for defense against infections and bacteria.
- It modulates the expression of genes
that regulate cell proliferation, apoptosis, and differentiation,
suggesting a potential role in cancer incidence. Epidemiology suggests links between vitamin D deficiency and most cancers, including breast, colorectal, and pretty much all the big ones.
- It reduces systemic, chronic inflammation.
It also helps with mood, and has links to Parkinsons (if you are lacking it) and a lot of other stuff.from http://www.marksdailyapple.com/deconstructing-vitamin-d/ Marks Daily Apple
Marks Daily Apple has numerous other articles touting Vitamin D and Fish Oil as well.
I usually take Vitafusion gummies (multi vitamins in pill form make me SOOO sick!)

I also take an iron supplement from Rainbow Light. I chose this one because its food based unlike traditional iron supplements.

My mom also recently suggested these probiotic gummies from Rainbow Light as well.

I also highly recommend (and take) Natural Calm. It is magnesium. It helps you sleep, it does not put you to sleep, but you sleep better. It is a stress reliever, and it helps your body absorb and hold on to calcium.

And I take vitamin B (Costco brand) because I stress out a lot
I love this post already (heh no like I'm bias or anything!)!
I take a bunch of stuff now, more recently than I did a month ago. I take RenewLife Fibersmart- it is a fiber supplement with probiotics, amino acids and herbs; Country Life Coenzyme B Comples- energy!!! neurological support, as Courtney allude to it is depleted when you are stressed and it helps with twitches/ spasms; Magnesium (Natural Calm is a great product, big seller at the health food stor I worked at!) for muscle tightness; added recently- Iron (Health food store brand) for energy; Country Life Maxi-hair-hair skin and nails; Country Life Sharp Thought- for brain/ memory support (since I'm trying to study for that CIA test).
I could not give up the Fiber, B complex, Magnesium and Maxi-hair. The maxi-hair has helped my skin better than any face washes. I used Proactiv but the prob is they tell you to stay out of the sun, and when I did I got a rashy red area on my face :-( so I stopped using it and so far so good!

Allison, you're not alone. I take a Target brand pre-natal every night before bed and that's it.
Vitamin C (Nature made, on Amazon) - boosts my crappy immune system and WORKS!
Folic Acid (Nature made, on Amazon) - pre-prenatal vitamin that my Dr. recommended because it's cheaper than prenatal vitamins but it still protects against birth defects and pregnancy complications if you have a "surprise"

Margaret, can you give me the name of this and where you get it? I am not quite ready for kids yet, but the there is the possibility in the somewhat future, and I would love to at least be prepared for a surprise.
Sure thing, I get them on Amazon (but you can get them anywhere): Nature Made Folic Acid 400mcg, 250 Tablets (Pack of 3)
