HHC Check-In: Week 1

We are one week in! I know some of us (myself included) are slow getting started with school ending and other things going on...but I hope things really get going.

WLC: We all know Lacey lost weight this week! Everyone else get me your info today.

Next Week's Challenge: Keep a food diary for the week. Identify one area for improvement.

Websites such as My Fitness Pal, Spark People and BabyFit can help you with this. (BabyFit is specifically for pregnant, new, breastfeeding moms and may be helpful to lots of us -- I was amazed by the amount of calories it says I need!). Of course, paper and pencil tracking is fine as well, but you will get a lot more information with a website that calculates calories, fat, calcium, etc.

    1. After tracking your exercise for the week, how did you do? What is an area you need to improve? (You are welcome to share your log or plan for next week, but not required.) I did "okay." I didn't do anything until school was over on Monday and actually ate pretty crappy. Tuesday I went to Yoga, Wednesday Zumba and yesterday we went for a long walk. Today may be a rest day or a easier walk depending on the weather. Next week I have already planned Monday: Walk with friend/babies, Tuesday: Yoga, Wednesday and Friday: Zumba. My obvious area for need is finding ways to exercise when I don't have a scheduled class or it is raining. I am aiming for working out 5 days a week to start, so right now my plan is to do the 30 day shred when I don't have something else planned because I already own it.

    2. What is your SMART goal for the summer/HHC? I want to lose 20 pounds during the summer.

I failed at the exercise tracking- and at the exercise for this week.  I did go strawberry picking for 2 hours on Sunday, which was actually pretty physical (my muscles hurt the next day from bending, stretching, squatting, etc...), and I had a super active day at work where I was running all around because our district staff was with us for the day. 

    2. What is your SMART goal for the summer/HHC?  Lose 20 lbs by the end of August, and to eat more fruits and veggies!

     -I did awful LOL I did not exercise at all this week, except for 1 walk around the track on Wednesday morning when the power was out at work lol.  I had intended to do Zumba on Tuesday and Thursday but wasn't able to go (I have to leave work early in order to go and I had a project I was working on).  So 0 for every single day, except 5 minutes on Wednesday.   Obviously I need to improve on how often I work out, so my short term goal for next week is to make it to Zumba (or do another work out) at least twice during the week.

    2. What is your SMART goal for the summer/HHC?

     

    -Lose 13.1 pounds from where I am today

    Don't think it's working so I'll have Maria post it for me-this is from Mid-May when I was almost 7 pounds heavier (but not much of a change probably and the only recent-ish before pic I have lol)   Awesome...found my motivation!

    I downloaded an app for my phone to keep track of my fitness log and how many calories I burn each day/week/month. The week started out great, but when everything got super busy my running was the first thing to go. I definitely need to work on getting out there, even if it means waking up at 6am.

    2. What is your SMART goal for the summer/HHC?

    Lose one pound per week until the end of the challenge.

    I did the 30 Day Shred Level 3 3 times this week. I wanted to do 4, but it just didn't happen. I need to do it one more time next week, in order to "complete" it (meaning, I did each level 10 times, though it took me longer than 30 days).  For next week, I'd like to do 3 workouts, since it's my last week before vacation.

    2. What is your SMART goal for the summer/HHC?

    When I come back from vacation in August, to get right "on the wagon" and start working out and tracking points.

     We went out for 20 min walks on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday (It was raining all day Wednesday).  I think I need to start scheduling exercise the way I schedule everything else.

    2. What is your SMART goal for the summer/HHC?

     My goal is to stick with WW (been doing it for 4 weeks now) and to loose weight each week, even if it is just a little bit.

     I'm a slacker and didn't actually take one.  But, this is one of my bff and I playing with the kids in the pool last saturday (I'm on the right).  Julia wasn't actually a fan of being in the pool.  She just wanted to splash from the outside.image

    I pretty much failed at exercising this week. I did ok at the beginning of the week with some things like heavy duty cleaning, I felt like I had worked out for hours after this! But with it being the last week of school PLUS it's been raining non-stop since Wednesday, which gives me no motivation. I need to work on staying motivated and just getting myself to the gym if it is raining and I can't get outside. I pay for the gym, I might as well use it! 

    2. What is your SMART goal for the summer/HHC?

    My goal is to maintain my current weight during our trip, and then once I am back get much more a schedule down and really stick to it for the remainder of the summer and lose about 5-10 pounds before school starts again in the fall.

All I did was my regular shelving shift at the library (yes it's a work out, I get hot and sweaty, so much up and down and lifting). It helped me realize that I NEED to go to the gym the days I said I will and not make excuses.2. What is your SMART goal for the summer/HHC?I want to lose 20 lbs.3.   • 1. On Saturday I biked to the park and played some frisbee and tossed a football around and kicked a soccer ball around. Then I biked to Dairy Queen. Then DH and I biked to the movie theatre and watched a movie and then we biked home. I don't know how far we biked. On Monday, Wednesday and Thursday I did yoga. Maybe exercise 5 days a week instead of just 4 would be an improvement to make.

    2. I want to lose 10 pounds and go back to weight I was from when I was 15 to when I was 21.

    1. After tracking your exercise for the week, how did you do? What is an area you need to improve? (You are welcome to share your log or plan for next week, but not required.)  I think I did okay, considering I was on "vacation" visiting my family.  I got in 3 runs and did planks on 2 of those days.  3 other days were each filled with several hours of strenuous yard work.  Had it not been for the yard work, I would have needed to plan in some physical activity, like going for a walk.  I will be back home soon and can get back into a routine of going to the gym regularly.  I guess an area to improve is to have an alternate activity planned (for example, I wanted to go for a run this morning, but it was raining so I went back to bed.  I could have had a back-up plan).

    2. What is your SMART goal for the summer/HHC?  I would like to work out 4-5 times a week (hopefully running 3 of those days).  I would like to get through Phase One of New Rules for Abs.  I would like to be ready to start a 15K training plan by mid-August.  I would like to keep my weight around my starting weight, but working on adding some muscle.

    I took several walks during the week with Wyatt and went swimming (mind you I had to hold him the whole time so I don't that can count as exercise for me

     I want to lose 5 lbs and keep them off, strengthen my midsection and possibly tighten it back up and just get into better shape all around

No exercise except for walking around the mall with the baby. I NEED to get on the ball with this. I got a post-natal exercise DVD that i'm going to try out. I wish I could walk with Ethan, but it's sooo hot out. Poor thing sweats in the stroller....Mall Walking for me!

I did awful - no structured exercise at all. If I don't plan in advance, it doesn't get done - so that's what I need to work on.
